- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a fast paced book. Two main characters are Scott Finn a hot shot lawyer in Boston and Police Detective Linda Flaherty. One of Finns colleagues and ex Natalie is found murdered. It looks like its the work of a Serial Killer called Little Jack, but Flaherty isnt convinced. She and her colleagues are under pressure to close the case. Finn doesnt take the death of Natalie to well, he is also suspected of killing her. He meets Flaherty and they go for dinner, she likes him but is scared to get to close. There are also several high up politicians who may have something to do with Natalie's death. Finn needs to convince Flaherty. Finn does his own digging into this case but is taken by the bad guys, Flaherty and chums with the help of Tigh his old mate from growing up undertake a rescue bid, Kill all the baddies but Tigh dies in the cross fire.Last page of the book is will Finn and Flaherty get together. OK book .
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a pretty solid book with some rather atmospheric descriptions of Boston. As an Australian I'm not really familiar with Boston's layout and vibe, however the scenes painted interestingly were clear enough to have a clear idea of the lay of the land from having played Fallout 4 which was sent in Boston also, and featured many of the same landmarks as the novel.I found the initial section of the book with the serial killer on the prowl was particularly good, however it then seemed to lag a little in the middle and I was somewhat losing concentration and interest. Then that could have been due to the fact I'd been up for 40 hours at the time. At any rate, the story then gets back up and going as the threads of seeming different matters begin to wind together suspiciously and characters who seemed dirty end up being upstanding people to varying degrees, and those who seemed upstanding end up being not so upstanding, also to varying degrees.Overall I'd say it was decent, but not outstanding. It lacked the enthrallment you get with James Sheehan, John Grisham & Patterson.
