About this audiobook

Calla Larkenwood wants nothing more than to be a guardian, but her overprotective mother has never allowed it. Battling fae creatures is too dangerous a job for a young girl, and there's that pesky magical ability she needs to keep hidden from the Guild. How can she do that if she's working right under their nose?

When circumstances change and Calla finally gets to follow her dream, she discovers that guardian trainee life isn't all she hoped it would be. Her classmates are distant, her mentor hates her, and keeping her ability a secret is harder than she thought. Then an Underground initiation game goes wrong, landing Calla with a new magical ability she can't control. She needs help, and the only way to get it is by bargaining with the guy who just discovered her biggest secret.

Through out this book I kept thinking.. Violet's story was better.. Nah it's not as good as the last book of the series.. I didn't realize author was actually just building a plot for next book and when I was at the last Chapter.. This book went from 0 to 100 real quick.. OMG.. Ending of this book made the whole experience a lot better.. wow..

This book starts a new arc with mostly new characters though they are related to to the first arc. Ryn and Vi are now background characters. It also seems a reset as Calla, Ryn's younger sister joins the guild. I don't find Calla as a compelling a character as Vi but it's still a good read.

This series gets better and better as it progresses unlike many series that get boring after a while

After begging her parents for years, Calla Larkenwood is finally given the opportunity to go to school to become a guardian. Unfortunately, it does not end up being everything she thought it would.A Faerie's Secret by Rachel Morgan is another incredible story in the Creepy Hollow Series! A Faerie's Secret takes place seven years after The Faerie War. Don’t worry Calla’s big brother Ryn and Vi still played a role in the series. It was interesting learning more about Calla now that she is getting older. She has had some difficulties in her life having to hide her talent from the Guild and overcome her childhood abduction. She is smart and brave. I felt bad that so many people give her a hard time. She has a serious case of Claustrophobia that sometimes puts her in less than desirable situations. She is a likable character that never seems to catch a break.I liked Chase. He was mysterious and helpful to Calla. I enjoyed their conversations and interaction. Rachel Morgan continued to create a vibrant world in this series. She makes it easy to visualize the surroundings and characters. The plot was amazing. So many unexpected things happen. The story was thrilling and oh-my-gosh-the-ending! Let’s just say I cannot wait to read the next book. If you haven’t tried this series, I would recommend starting with the first book.
