About this audiobook

Juliet's personal and professional lives have recently received an extra jolt of energy. Her romance with the hunky detective Ryder Hamilton continues to simmer, and business at Java Jive has never been better. But her good mood quickly turns as stale as day-old espresso when she finds out that Ryder has been promoted to his precinct's homicide division. With him risking his life to catch the worst kind of criminals, Juliet's growing sense of unease ignites when a local college student goes missing.

Suddenly every Nashville resident is on high alert, especially Juliet's neighbor Chelsea. Juliet does her best to calm the girl's nerves, but her worst fears are confirmed when she finds Chelsea dead. Even though she tries her best to stay out of it, Juliet's involvement puts a strain on Ryder's first homicide case. The situation soon becomes even more personal for Juliet and her best friend Pete Bennett when one of their employees disappears during her shift. As a killer lurks in the shadows, Juliet, Pete, and Ryder seek out a double shot of justice.

Juliet Langley manages the Java Jive, a coffee shop near a college in Nashville, Tennessee. The shop is owned by her best friend, Pete Bennett. Juliet’s boyfriend, Ryder Hamilton, has just been promoted to homicide detective, causing Juliet much worry. This seems a little ironic, because really Ryder should be worried about Juliet. She has a knack for finding dead bodies and getting involved in the murder investigations.

A young college girl has gone missing, causing fear and alarm amongst the local residents. When Juliet's friend and neighbor Chelsea is found dead in her apartment, Juliet begins to suspect that the two cases may be connected. Juliet soon finds herself involved in investigation the deaths and of course things get out of hand.

This is the third book in the Java Jive Mystery series. Because this is a cozy mystery, there is not much graphic violence, and we get a good dose of Juliet's personal life mixed into the story. I felt Ryder acts more like a spoiled child in this one, and his disagreements with Juliet become frustrating. The mystery was pretty solid and well written. I enjoyed reading this and look forward to the next book in the series. I give this 4 out of 5 stars.

I received a free ARC from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I so enjoyed the romp that was the first two books that I immediately started this. Maybe I shouldn't have binge read or I might have enjoyed this more. I'm also not a huge fan of mysteries so not the best source for an opinion. I'm not necessarily dine with the series, but this one was a bit much. Too much of everything thrown in. Too many characters. Too many romantic shake ups. Too much of those shake ups plus the mysteries themselves depended on tossing out completely what the first two books told us about certain characters. What my rating scale means:★★½☆☆ = Liked parts; parts only okay. A Whole Latte Murder by Caroline Fardig is a 2016 Alibi publication. The redheaded she-devil is back and once more finds herself involved in a murder investigation. When Juliet discovers the body of a woman, who just so happened to be the best friend of one of her Baristas, Ryder asks her to do a little investigative work for him. Meanwhile, Pete is still working through his grief, and Juliet is struggling with Ryder’s big promotion up to the homicide department. With Ryder working long hours, Pete gets drawn into the investigation as Juliet’s partner in crime, which also means they are spending a great deal of time together alone…This installment in this madcap series continues to develop, with more knotty plot lines and a slightly more serious tone. These stories have a nice, even blend of romance and mystery, featuring Juliet’s complicated love life, which involves her lingering and confused feelings for Pete, and putting up with the moody tough guy, Ryder. The mystery this time around might have gotten just a tiny bit too ‘busy’ and so you will want to read slowly and carefully to keep up with a few fast curves and twists. I’m not sure how accurate the plot might be as far as some details are concerned, and a there were times when my plausibility meter tanked, but I never did puzzle out who the killer was, so I can’t really complain. It is always fun to check up on Juliet and her famous temper. I’m not sure what to make of the relationship ups and downs and felt a little befuddled by the developments this time around, but am keeping my fingers crossed on Juliet’s behalf. Overall, this was another enjoyable outing with Juliet, Pete, and the gang at Java Jive. 3.5 stars

This is a great little series, I've had the pleasure of reading the first two and they haven't let me down as of yet. Jules and Pete are so very likable as well as the other characters in this series. The dialog between Pete and Jules have me laughing out loud, I'm already looking forward to the next installment to see what is in store for the Java Jive crew.I received an e-galley of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third installment in the Java Jive Mystery Series, but the first I have read. I must go back and read the others now. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting, funny, with a real zest for life.Juliet Langley is the manager of Java Jive. She seems to find trouble, or maybe trouble finds her. She promises Pete, her boss and best friend that she will not investigate when she finds a dead body, but apparently investigating is part of her make up. She is presently dating Ryder Hamilton, a police officer and he is not happy that she keeps inserting herself into dangerous investigations. When he takes her out to dinner to celebrate his promotion to Homicide, she is less than pleased. Jules is worried for his safety, although she does not seem to worry about her own. Juliet weasels herself into the center of a murder case that's much bigger and more complicated than it initially appears. She and a neighbour stumble upon a dead College Student in their building. During the investigation it comes to light that this might be tied to a missing college student as well as the strange behaviour of one of her baristas who was the roommate of the murdered girl. Juliet fully intends to find out what is going on and rescue Kira, her barista, from whatever she is involved in as well as help her friend uncover evidence to either prove or disprove her husband's involvement in the murder. Juliet seems to have a confusing love life. She is dating Ryder, but has feelings for her BFF Pete. Does he have feelings for her? What about Stafford, the blushing police detective who seems to be around whenever Juliet gets in trouble or finds a body. Ryder comes with a past and that past catches up with him in this book. As well, he seems to love bossing Juliet around, and she is not happy with that. When he ignores her to continue working long after the other officers have quit for the day, she becomes more that a little peeved with him. If the first two books in this series are as much fun as this one, then this will be a great series. This is a cozy mystery that centers around Java Jive, a coffee house with open mic nights. The characters are quirky, especially Gertie, Pete's grandma. There's a little humour, a little romance, and a whole lot of murder going on in Nashville. I look forward to catching up in this series and watching for the next installment to see what's in store for Juliet and her friends. I definitely recommend this book to cozy mystery lovers, mystery lovers and even the romance readers should enjoy this book. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

Whenever I start reading a new Java Jive book, I want a cup of coffee. And I drank a lot of coffee once I began reading this new book in the mystery series. Juliet is a sleuth wannabe, and she’s surprisingly good at it – a whole lot better than she is in the relationship department. She starts out with Ryder, the brooding cop with a whole lot of baggage and ends up with John, the empathetic detective who, at times, can seem almost naïve. One can only wonder if Jules and Pete will ever get together – it’s obvious the desire is there, but it’s almost like they don’t know how to take that next step. How Ms. Fardig comes up with these story lines is the true mystery and I am captivated by her imagination and ability to bring the reader into the story. This book has it all – a murder, devilish handsome men, great women friends, wonderful humor and a whole lot of action. If you’re looking for a companion to curl up by the fire with, A Whole Latte Murder can’t be beat. What’s next for Jules? We’ll just have to wait for the next Java Jive book to be released.

I have read only two of the three books in this series; the first one I never finished because it just didn’t live up to the hype and was a little too similar to other series. It had many issues and I had hoped that the author would have dealt with them. Unfortunately, she did not and the issues got worse as this her newest novel, went along.Don’t get me wrong, this is a perfectly acceptable light mystery read if you don’t mind a main character who is whiny, immature, overly impulsive and oft times condescending. She has a foul mouth, blames all of her problems with her temper on having red hair and she tries too hard to act like she is twenty when she is supposed to be a fairly mature character in her 30’s.The plot to this book was a pretty complicated one featuring many red-herrings. The biggest mistake is that Juliet’s relationships took up more pages than the actual mystery. The main male character and Juliet’s lover (Ryder), became very dislikable in this book. I know that from my past reading that he is dealing with (and not very well) the death of his wife and a lot will be explained and solved in this book, so that explains a lot of his poor behavior…but still. You have to be willing to read the whole novel to see how this all works out. To add insult to injury - there is now a third man in Juliet’s life. The best part is that this book doesn’t have any sex in it - yet. But I suspect that given a little time this will become just like the Stephanie Plum series (author Janet Evanovich). As it is this series is a little too reminiscent of author Cleo Coyle’s Coffee House series, but without the panache and believable characters and themes. In one aspect, this book ends with a bit of a cliff hanger. No, not with the mystery, but with Ryder and Juliet’s relationship and with Ryder’s job. This is a fine cotton-candy read (much lighter and more forgettable than a potato-chip read) that won’t tax your brain, but may frustrate the heck out of you!*ARC supplied by publisher.
