Descrição
Memory is the greatest challenge to learning a foreign language; there are just too many words and too many rules. For every new word we learn, we seem to forget two old ones, making fluency seem out of reach. Fluent Forever tackles this challenge head-on. Starting with pronunciation, you'll learn how to rewire your ears and turn foreign sounds into familiar sounds. And with the help of sophisticated spaced-repetition techniques, you'll be able to memorize hundreds of words a month in minutes every day. This is brain hacking at its most exciting, taking what we know about neuroscience and linguistics and using it to create the most efficient and enjoyable way to learn a foreign language in the spare minutes of your day.

It's a great book to understand how you can learn a language by you on.
The author teaches you how the brain works and how flash card and other useful tools can help you in the process of learning a new language.

Marketing. Links to overpriced basic stuff. But a lot of enthusiasm for learning languages shown. Some good tips, some dubious.

A good guide to language learning. I really enjoyed it

Every language learner and teacher should have this book. The author describes different tools and hacks and even keeps them in a website

This is an excellent book. Part of the strategies described here I was successfully using before. The part about grammar memorisation was however brand new for me.
I am somewhat skeptical as to the utility of extreme phonetical practice at the beginning. I also dislike that this book doesn't have tips on learning languages with really complex writing systems like Japanese or tonal languages like Chinese. I guess there should be some caveats there. For me, for example, learning about 1500-2000 kanjis was paramount for really starting to understand Japanese.
Nevertheless, it is an excellent book. I STILL cannot understand for the life of me why most people are unaware of SRSs or serious mnemonic systems.
Great book, read it if you are into language learning.

Astonishing audiobook but don’t ever read it on its own, only with the paperback book .
