About this audiobook
Amber Gamble sat on the floor beside her bed. I hate them. All of them, she thought to herself.
As Michelle Baron ascends the steps of Magnolia Middle School, her life is about to change forever. The dream of becoming a teacher leads her on an unexpected journey that will challenge her professionally and personally. Although 180 students file through her classroom daily, one demands her attention more than the others. Living in her third foster home in a year, Amber's bitterness and rebellion spark a challenge within Michelle to somehow make a difference in this troubled girl's life.
Meanwhile, Michelle's daughter develops a series of unexplainable bruises. A stunning visit to the pediatrician reveals frightening possibilities. While Michelle tries to hold her fears at bay, Amber approaches her with a daunting crisis of her own.
Into Magnolia reveals the internal struggles and triumphs of a dedicated teacher, and the power of love to transform lives.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5When I look at the title and the cover of the book, I'm not really drawn to it, but the synopsis encouraged me to give this book a try. Let me tell you: This book is WONDERFUL! As a former social worker, I wish I knew more people who were truly proactive in the lives of foster kids. Mrs. Baron shines in this book as a wonderful example of what every mother, wife, and educator should be. She's not perfect, mind you, but she gives so much of herself to those around her.
Amber is lost...in the foster care system, in school, and in life. She needs guidance. She needs consistency and support from those around her. She makes mistakes, like every other teenager out there. She's forced to make some pretty big decisions for someone her age.
Their lives are beautifully intertwined, both individuals change the other person's lives in ways they never imagined. It's a beautiful story with an ending that will leave you in tears.
