About this audiobook
After the humiliating theft of the Death Star plans and the destruction of the battle station, the Empire is on the defensive. But not for long. In retaliation, the elite Imperial soldiers of Inferno Squad have been called in for the crucial mission of infiltrating and eliminating the Partisans—the rebel faction once led by notorious Republic freedom fighter Saw Gerrera.
Following the death of their leader, the Partisans have carried on his extremist legacy, determined to thwart the Empire—no matter the cost. Now Inferno Squad must prove its status as the best of the best and take down the Partisans from within. But the growing threat of being discovered in their enemy's midst turns an already dangerous operation into a do-or-die acid test they dare not fail. To protect and preserve the Empire, to what lengths will Inferno Squad go . . . and how far beyond them?
The Rebellion may have heroes like Jyn Erso and Luke Skywalker. But the Empire has Inferno Squad.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful entry in the Star Wars canon. Now if only the game that accompanied it were half as good...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this. The characters were excellently done, and even though they were Imperial, they didn't seem like the typical bad guys from Star Wars that we're used to. Well done!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A must read if you are a Star Wars extended universe fan, and if you plan to get your hands on Battlefront II in November! This prequel will not let you down, it is action packed and fiery, as well as insightful, revealing, and intimate at times. Although my rebel flag waves, it was wonderful, refreshing, and thoroughly interesting to see the Rebellion through the minds of Imperials. The determination, and struggles, physical and otherwise, of the protagonists are absolutely unforgettable. Christie Golden has given us an amazing book, and Janina Gavankar has given it life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved this story, I really enjoyed the Inferno Squad parts of Battlefront II and wanted to learn more about the team. So when I discovered this book I was thrilled. The story was very interesting and gripping, I love that the beginning was directly linked to Episode 4 and it also linked to Rogue One. The best thing about this audiobook for me was the narration, having the actress who portrayed Iden Verso in the game reading the book was brillant and a great idea. Would tthoroughlyreccomend to Star Wars fans
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Overall great book and great addition to the Star Wars universe. It does well as an adventure story full of intrigue, thick plot points, rich character motivations, and detailed scenarios. However, there is something about it that kept me from giving it 5 stars. It may be unfair to compare it with Battlefront: Twilight Company; yet that book seemed to line up with its video game counterpart--it tracks the hard, gritty life of a rebel company and you can resonate with that when you play the game. Whereas, Inferno Squadron does really well to draw you in and connect with the squad members, but this book is more of an undercover story, and something better tied to an RPG, rather than action-shooter, game. Also, Golden did a really good job setting the stage in the book to assemble Inferno Squadron and how they would infiltrate the Partisans. However, I feel the ending fell a bit short on how Inferno Squad, or at least a certain character, would be redeemed in the eyes of the Empire, based on what they had to do while undercover. Overall, I recommend the book.
***Note for SCRIBD: This book is listed for 16 hours and 199 chapters. However, my saved version of the book ended at chapter 145; not sure how long that is since the Scribd app does not show overall book time. There was a completely different audiobook that started at chapter 146--> "Option B: Facing adversity, building resilience, and finding joy" by Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant.***1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I think it is the weakest of all the canon Star Wars novels I've read so far.
