About this audiobook

You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone…

Police academy cadet Charlie Burns can’t believe his luck when the gorgeous blonde he meets in a bar murmurs those magic words: “Nothing serious, ’kay?” Mind-blowing, no-strings sex with Ever Carmichael—it’s the holy grail of hookups for a guy who’s too busy following in his law enforcement family’s footsteps to think about getting serious. Charlie’s all about casual…that is, until Ever calls it quits and his world tilts on its axis.

Ever knows that when you control the relationship game, you can’t get played. But for the first time, she wants more than short-term satisfaction. Step one: end her fling with commitment-phobic Charlie. Step two: sacrifice herself to the ruthless NYC dating scene. Yet everywhere she turns, there’s Charlie, being his ridiculously charming self. No online match or blind date compares to the criminally hot cop-in-training, but they’re over. Aren’t they?

If love is a four-letter-word, why does the idea of Ever seeing someone else tie Charlie up in knots?  Now he’s desperate to win her back…and a little date sabotage never hurt anyone, right?

Charlie Burns you are one smooth son of a gun.

I absolutely loved the audio version of this book, I know I would have flown through it a lot quicker if I was physically reading it, but the narrators were so good. Samantha and Alexander brought Ever and Charlie to life.

Tessa is becoming one of my new favourite authors. The characters feel so real, their friendships, work lives, home lives and so on, it all means something. I was never bored, not for a second.

I laughed myself to tears so many times, I actually had to pause the book a few times to calm myself down. The natural humour gets me so good.

At one stage though I was pacing the kitchen saying ‘no, this can’t be happening’ over and over, because of course Tessa is going to write a story that’s sexy, funny, cute as hell, full of feels and then she’s going to shatter your heart so she can piece it back together again, slowly! Very fucking slowly!

I love Ever and Charlie so much. I hope to see more of them in the rest of the series because I’m not ready to give them up. I’d love to know what nickname they decide to saddle Charlie with after his mushy sap fest that hit me right in the feels.

I cannot wait to read the next book so I can get to know some of the other characters better. I loved this so much, it was just what I needed, light and full of feels with some very steamy sexy time. ;)

    Here is one of my favourite moments;
“Especially if he was wearing those uniform pants that made his package look like a Christmas present wrapped in a zipper.”

I love Tessa Bailey, I read her years ago for the first time but I’ve just recently made it my mission to read/listen to all her books. I really liked this one!

Charlie and Ever had a good connection and the sex was great, Tessa knows how to write some dirty talking men. Her dirty talk is definitely one of the best, and I read A LOT.

Charlie didn’t want to lose Ever as a sex buddy and sets out to ruin her dates, he has some emotional trauma he needs to work through and I really want to read more about his brother! The gruff cop, please give me more!

Either way, I loved this couple and I will definitely read the next in the series. The only thing that is keeping me from giving 5, is that I felt Charlie was childish at times and the guy narrating didn’t have a good “female” voice for Ever parts.

I would still 100% recommend this though! It was a perfect mix of rom com and spice!

When I first saw the cover to Disorderly Conduct and read the synopsis I thought it was going to be a fun read. I mean a romance with a police cadet and a nothing serious kinda girl sounds like there is going to be a lot of humor, romance, and drama. The story starts out like I expected but as it went on it became exceedingly romantic. I was not in any way expecting the seriously romantic, blow my mind type of romance scenes that this story delivered. Be still my heart, I am in love with Tessa Bailey’s writing! At the start, Charlie is out on the town with his buddies but always on the prowl for a good time. While out at a bar he runs into a smoking hot woman and she tells him she does not want anything serious. Of course, he can’t believe her but he goes along for the ride. What he did not realize is that when Ever Carmichael says something, she means it. For the next thirty days Ever stays true to her no-strings attached sexual escapades.Ever grew up in a family where she has been groomed to never have a long-term relationship. Men will say anything to bed you but then they will leave you. That is what Ever took as gospel all her life. When someone in her life came to her and begged her to give relationships a chance, Ever decided that she would try to have a relationship for the first time in her life. Although she was incredibly attracted to Charlie, he was a non-committal kind of guy, so the first thing she needed to do was cut him loose.Charlie thanked his lucky stars that Ever really did want no-strings attached sexy times with him but when she called it quits he did not like it at all. Certain that Ever was just confused about what she wanted he felt it was his job to show her that no-strings sex was what she really wanted, not a relationship with commitment, children, and the whole package. She should just want his package, ha ha ha. Charlie hatches a plan where he was going to get Ever to see that what they had was good enough and that she should give up her search for the “one” and just get between the sheets with him.Charlie was just a little confused about what he really wanted with Ever. His childhood was not one that would foster grand designs of relationships or marriage. When he lost Ever he didn’t understand why it upset him or why her loss mattered and that is what made this story so, so, so swoony for me! The growth of his character was what really endeared me to this story. Although he might have made a few errors in judgment when Charlie finally realized that he handled things with Ever in all the wrong ways, the way tried to redeem himself was sooooooo incredibly romantic, touching, off the charts endearing. I JUST LOVED IT!This is a very steamy read but there is more to it than just sexy times, although expect a lot of that between these characters. Charlie and Ever develop a true friendship and they learn that there can be a deeper meaning to relationships when they put aside their fears and rules and just let things happen naturally. Disorderly Conduct is a story that I highly recommend to romance readers. It has everything that makes a great romance but leaves out the drama, such as cheating, love triangles, and emotions blowing hot then cold. I just cannot recommend this book enough! This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Edelweiss+. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

A steamy romance, from just sex, to sex and friendship and finally love and marriage, with plenty of angst, struggles and humour along the way. Narrated alternately by him and her. I enjoyed the audiobook version with male and female narrators.

This book was OK. I thought it was kind of corny. I think sometimes it’s just the narrating.

I usually do not love New Adult -- the characters in this book are the same age as my son and behave accordingly -- but this charmed me. I really liked Charlie and Ever, and their banter was very good. The whole backstory for both characters was idiotic, but it really did not matter at all. I was in the mood for a light romance and attempted 2 absolutely god-awful books before this one (Just Her Bodyguard which I abandoned about 2/3 in and Just One Week which I abandoned at about page 30) and this absolutely met my light romance needs. Silly, sexy, pretty fun.

I read the first and second book backwards. It didn't really change much for my perspective of how much I like Tessa Bailey's writing and her characters. I think she does an excellent job of writing characters who develop relationships that feel completely natural. It's not just trying to mash two archetypes together and turn out a book.

This book was a fun ride. I wouldn't call it the best. I loved the second book in the series a he'll of a lot more. It had characters that develop and grow through the story and they actually change. While Disorderly Conduct makes you think they may have grown and they really don't they just stumble into the realization they've been ignorant and immature. I guess I just wasn't super into this one as the others. I delayed on writing my reviews because of the thanksgiving holiday time frame and it really gave me a better idea of how I felt.

Ever comes from a line of family with this really weird idea that they are mistresses who should just use men for sex and have no emotional entanglements. Ok so your mom having a sex talk is one thing but having your mom say just bone that's it... weird. generations go one by accident it seems. However, Ever is an interesting person. She is nice, she is stable in her career, she has a hood sense of humor and determination. I liked her, just not this weird background.

Charlie is an obsessive stalker, but it's written in a way you want to almost forgive him. I guess the theme for this book could be determination. He was determined to have Ever. Charlie not only comes across as a stalker but also like an immature school boy. He's like running around town sabotaging Ever' s dates and stuff.

So both Ever and Charlie are like immature kids who are products of their upbringing. Neither have a clue what a relationship is or how to approach it. So obviously there with be misunderstandings, conflicts, devastation, betrayal, swooning, yada yada. Not a bad book at all. I liked it.
