Descrição

A captivating psychological thriller from #1 USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Jaynes.

On Halloween night five years ago, Chelsea Dutton's college roommates were viciously stabbed to death, and Chelsea was critically injured. She was found hiding in her apartment's bathtub, barely clinging to life.

With only fragments of shattered memory, she's been trying her best to move past the nightmares ever since. Now in Boston, she lives a somewhat reclusive life, working from home as a medical transcriptionist and bingeing on mindless television shows.

She can't shake the fear that her attacker is out there, waiting to finish what he started, and Elizabeth, a nurse she met after the murders, is the only person she can trust.

When someone from her past reemerges, Chelsea starts receiving disturbing messages and worries that her every move is being watched. As the messages mount and her memories begin to return, she's led to a very terrifying and lonely place. But she needn't be afraid. She won't be alone there for long.

This book was phenomenal! I simply couldn't put it down! A quick read and a real page turner. I read this start to finish on my busiest day of the week. 5 years ago, on Halloween, Chelsea survived the vicious murders of her college roommates. The case went cold when the only suspect went completely off grid. Now a new investigation starts when Chelsea starts getting messages left on her car.

This was definitely an edge of your seat read that had me at hello. I sped through this amnesia filled, WTF happened and oh, no, not again thrill ride.I did get a little bogged down part way in when the author took a different course, however, it was all tied up in the end and it did make sense.A thrilling, chilling, way up past your bedtime read that I just could not put down! Thanks to Thomas & Mercer and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

This book kept me riveted from beginning to end. Chelsea, the main character, tugs on your heart strings and makes you believe she is strong all at the same time. The other characters are well written and contribute in major ways to helping the story unfold. The story itself is a thriller, suspenseful, and has just enough twists and turns that you are interested but not lost. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received this ARC thanks to NetGalley and I absolutely loved it. I also received Jennifer Jaynes previous novel, A Stranger Inside, as an arc and I loved that one as well. This was a psychological thriller that I could not stop reading. There were times when I had to force myself to stop just so I can go to sleep. It's definitely for those who enjoy a good psychological thriller with a great story and a couple crazy twists.

This is about the only survivor of a murder in college who finds herself being threatened by the killer who is still wanted by police. The detective who originally worked on the case, now retired due to a back injury, takes on the case. What follows is definitely some crazy twists and it all leads to very "disturbing" ending. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I recommend picking it up when it comes out.

Five years ago Chelsea was a student, living together with two roommates. On Halloween they had a party that ended in disaster. Chelsea's roommates were both stabbed to death and Chelsea was gravely injured and barely made it. These horrible events lead to partial memory loss and Chelsea hardly remembers anything from the life she had before the attack. To escape the reminders of that terrible night Chelsea moved to Boston to be close to her best friend Elizabeth and she leads a secluded life there.

When Chelsea meets someone from her past in one of the places she regularly visits in Boston, she's surprised and also happy as Boyd is a guy she used to like. Unfortunately bad things are happening again as well. She always kept having the feeling the nightmare wasn't over, but now that she's back in touch with Boyd messages are appearing and Chelsea knows she's being watched. Slowly memories of that awful Halloween night come to the surface. Will Chelsea finally find out who was behind the brutal attacks and will she be safe or is she still in danger?

Disturbed is a terrific gripping story. Chelsea is a broken woman. She finds strength in her friendship with Elizabeth. Elizabeth is always there for her and whenever Chelsea is lost her best friend knows exactly what to do. Chelsea's leading a pretty lonely life, but she's doing okay given the circumstances. She has Elizabeth and that's enough for her. When Boyd reappears in her life this feeling changes and Chelsea slowly begins to want more. However, that's when strange and creepy things are starting to happen to her and I couldn't stop reading before I found out who was behind them.

Jennifer Jaynes has written a great thrilling story. She knows how to work with tension and her writing becomes more and more suspenseful as the story goes on. Disturbed is a fast-paced read and I flew through the pages. The mystery of the horrible Halloween night is a good one, the story is filled with surprises and the ending is amazing. Disturbed is definitely a well-chosen title, I loved this fabulous chilling book.
