About this audiobook

Jensen Monroe is a unicorn. As handsome as any model, as polite as can be, a goalie of unmatched skill, and the best friend anyone could ask for. But he longs for a particular special someone to make his life complete. He's been in love with Wren since he was a teenager, but as his best friend's sister, she's always been off-limits.

Wren Lemiere has prided herself on being a love 'em and leave 'em girl her whole life. She's all about equal opportunity in the battle of the sexes. Why should guys like her brother and his best friends get to be the only ones allowed to play the dating game? One wrong move, however, and she finds herself in violation of her own rules.

In need of a fake husband and baby daddy for her unexpected bundle of joy, Wren finally accepts Jensen is the logical one to ask for help. Except he has a counteroffer . . . one with so many strings attached, they may just find themselves wrapped up in ties that bind. Forever.

Toni Aleo

My name is Toni Aleo, and I’m a #PredHead, #sherrio, #potterhead, and part of the #familybusiness! I am also a wife to my amazing husband, mother of a wrestler and a gymnast, and also a fur momma to Gaston el Papillon. You can usually find me hollering for the whole Nashville Predators, since I’ll never give my heart to one player again. When I’m not in the gym getting swole, I’m usually writing, trying to make my dreams a reality, or being a taxi for my kids. I’m obsessed with Harry Potter, Supernatural, Disney, and anything that sparkles! I’m pretty sure I was Belle in a past life, and if I could be on any show it would be Supernatural, so I could hunt with Sam and Dean. Also, I did mention I love hockey, right?

I love Jensen, but Wren was an attention-seeking, whiney, annoyance. But I carried on because I love unicorns (Jensen).

Finally, Jensen and Wren’s story. I have been following the Assassins since book 1, and love when new players get their stories. Jensen Monroe is one of those new players, he is the backup goalie. Brought up to play for Otto when he is injured. He has longed for one thing his entire life, but it has always been just out of reach. His best friend’s sister, Wren.

Wren Lemiere has had it rough growing up. Always living in her brother and his buddy’s shadows. She became the wild child that didn’t really care what anyone thought of her on the outside, but she was hiding it all away. Until one mess up found her in a world of trouble. Now to get her inheritance, she need a daddy for her baby.

The only person she can think of that would even consider doing this for her is Jensen. Only she doesn’t know he wants it to be real.

In true Assassin glory, Aleo goes all out with this one. Had me in tears like a flippin baby, had me laughing like little school girl, and had me pissed off beyond mad. I love the way Toni writes a book. Cannot wait for the next book, Two Man Advantage.

Toni Aleo scores with IN THE CREASE, the twelfth book in the Assassins series. NHL goalie, Jensen Monroe, has been in love with his best friend’s little sister, Wren Lemiere, since they were kids. So, when she asks him to be her fake husband in order to get her inheritance, he jumps at the opportunity with the hopes of making it permanent. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.I adore Jensen. He has become one of my favorite male characters. He is an amazing individual. He has some understandable insecurities. He is a wonderful guy who is patient and loyal. He and Wren are adorable together. Her self-esteem has been messed with, and she has a lot of obstacles that she faces in this story. They both grow tremendously and make a cute couple. I enjoyed the plot and sub-plot. I love that Wren’s brother, Vaughn Johansson, and Brie play a major role in this novel. They definitely added to the entertainment value. The boys and Wren have known each other forever, so they have a fun relationship. I love both Wren and Jensen’s families. My father went through some of the same diabetes issues that Jensen’s dad did. Therefore, my heart went out to Jensen and his family. Toni Aleo continues to do an astonishing job with her character development. She is a talented and skillful writer whom I can always count on for an amazing read. I loved the last chapter and epilogue. It was the perfect ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
