About this audiobook
In the explosive third volume of The Hundredth Queen Series, the queen of fire faces off against a demon of ice.
Despite the odds, Kalinda has survived it all: Marriage to a tyrant. Tournaments to the death. The forbidden power to rule fire. The icy touch of a demon.
That same demon now disguises itself as Rajah Tarek, Kalinda’s late husband and a man who has never stopped haunting her. Upon taking control of the palace and the army, the demon brands Kalinda and her companions as traitors to the empire. They flee across the sea, seeking haven in the Southern Isles.
In Lestari, Kalinda’s powers are not condemned, as they are in her land. Now free to use them to protect those she loves, Kalinda soon realizes that the demon has tainted her with a cold poison, rendering her fire uncontrollable. But the lack of control may be just what she needs to send the demon back to the darkest depths of the Void.
To take back the empire, Kalinda will ally with those she distrusts—and risk losing those most loyal to her—to defeat the demon and bring peace to a divided nation.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In my Goodreads review I simply say, "Thanks Emily". She's done a great job to get to a third book in the series and still have readers anxious for the next book. I've never found it easy to review series of books, book after book. If I were to do it well, I'd spoil everything, if I don't do it at all, I've nothing to hang my recommendation on.So in the first book Kalinda is essentially taken by the ruler of her country as his 100th Queen, which has a special meaning along with it's own myths and traditions. One of the traditions has to do with fighting any or all of the other wives who care to fight for reasons that are essentially meaningless to work a day folks like you and me, but add a whole fantasy society mixed with magic, mythos, and heroic journey themes, and you're flipping pages when you should be sleeping.I primarily do the audiobooks, but do sit down and read along in the ebook at times. Our narrators, Lauren Ezzo and Scott Merriman make the audiobook a joy to listen to. I used to think, "doesn't matter" with narrators but I've learned a narrator can make or break an audiobook. So Emily is lucky to the these two narrators making her hallucination called The Rogue Queen come to life.Read between 10/24/19 and 11/2/19
