That's what he wants you to think....

A good mother doesn't forget things.

A good mother isn't a danger to herself.

A good mother isn't a danger to her baby.

You want to be the good mother you dreamed you could be.

But you're not. You're the bad mother you were destined to become.

Good book, not a huge twist but it was very interesting and up my ally / psychological thriller
  • (4/5)
Great book! It was a little slow to start but the characters were so well developed I was engulfed. Looking forward to her other works.

I usually love Amanda Brookes books, so I was chuffed to read this one, however, It took me about three weeks to finish it. My main issues are, this book was very confusing instead of suspenseful and the characters were very unlikeable in my opinion. I'm always one to hope that books get better, but for me, this one did not.

If you feel like spending 80% of book hating the main character worse than you hate the villian. The only reason i got to the end was by skipping forward. And i never fast forward books. Ever. But, again, you don’t miss anything significant to the story line if you cut out chapter 4 through 36.

Predictable and slow, and I was constantly yelling at the main character to make different choices than she was making. An okay read, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it unless you’re friends with the author and you’ll feel bad that you didn’t read it when you see her.
