About this audiobook

Four-time New York Times bestselling author Gary Vaynerchuk offers new lessons and inspiration drawn from the experiences of dozens of influencers and entrepreneurs who rejected the predictable corporate path in favor of pursuing their dreams by building thriving businesses and extraordinary personal brands.

In his 2009 international bestseller Crush It, Gary insisted that a vibrant personal brand was crucial to entrepreneurial success, In Crushing It!, Gary explains why that’s even more true today, offering his unique perspective on what has changed and what principles remain timeless. He also shares stories from other entrepreneurs who have grown wealthier—and not just financially—than they ever imagined possible by following Crush It principles. The secret to their success (and Gary’s) has everything to do with their understanding of the social media platforms, and their willingness to do whatever it took to make these tools work to their utmost potential. That’s what Crushing It! teaches listeners to do.

In this lively, practical, and inspiring audiobook, Gary dissects every current major social media platform so that anyone, from a plumber to a professional ice skater, will know exactly how to amplify his or her personal brand on each. He offers both theoretical and tactical advice on how to become the biggest thing on old standbys like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat; podcast platforms like Spotify, Soundcloud, iHeartRadio, and iTunes; and other emerging platforms such as Musical.ly. For those with more experience, Crushing It! illuminates some little-known nuances and provides innovative tips and clever tweaks proven to enhance more common tried-and-true strategies.

Crushing It! is a state-of-the-art guide to building your own path to professional and financial success, but it’s not about getting rich. It’s a blueprint to living life on your own terms.

I love Gary Vee now, when I first heard of him I thought "what a knob" however, the more you listen and see the more you realise he's often right.
I'm now full of fire to make my business a success, I'm also going to listen again and again to make sure I get the most out of this information, it's gold!

Gary Vee provides great insights both from his experience, and many other entrepreneurs. It's not your typical motivational self-help book since there are plenty of practical digital marketing strategies provided. This is a gem of a book, not just for business people, but for anyone looking to communicate a message to the public in a non-spammy, value-oriented, and genuine way in 2018.

To be quite honest, if this had been my first book about entrepreneurship, I would have definitely given it a higher rating. However, I read quite a few writings about this theme and I find this one to be an average one.

Don't get me wrong, Gary is amazing at what he is doing and he has been an inspiration for me for the past years. However, the content presented here didn't blow up my mind.

Nevertheless, there were two aspects which I truly appreciated. The stories presented by people from different areas of interest and how they used a certain platform or platforms to grow up their brands. This is extremely helpful, as you get to relate to at least one of them and afterwards create an amazing strategy to grow your business as well. The second thing that captured my attention was him talking about ''Voice First''. It's something that it's completely new to me and I can definitely incorporate it in my business. I'm looking forward to learn more about it.

Gary brings some of the best moving stories on how people have built their brands around their passion. The struggles and the hustle before their eventual success has been well documented. It brings some sanity and structure to an unconventional part time/ full time gig now known as the social media influencers . Highly recommend reading this book.

    Listen carefully... *SPOILERS AHEAD*

I loved this book a lot, I've been following Gary for a year now and it is so interesting to see how he takes the things that he talks about often to the book form.

Now to the real, honest review:

This book has only 1 mission: to inspire people to start and take the leap. If you are looking for practical advice on how to grow your business reading the book will not help you much, you are better off by reading a review or a blog post about social media and branding.

This book is meant to be a platform for entrepreneurs who are 'Crushing It!' to present their stories and inspire other people.

    Who should read the book:
    - Aspiring entrepreneurs who didn't get to read Crush It! (1st version of the book).
    - People who are familiar with Gary Vee or his content.
    - People who are new to entrepreneurship.
    - People who want to hear some awesome stories about entrepreneurs who are Crushing It!
    - People who want an updated version of Crush It!

    Who shouldn't read the book:
    - People who are exclusively looking for practical advice.
    - People who have consumed Gary Vee's content for more than 3 years.
    - People who simply don't not like Gary's POV on a lot of subjects.

    Also

This is my quick recap of useful points from the book:

    - The 8 essentials of Personal Brand (Intent, Authenticity, Passion, Patience, Speed, Work, Attention and Content)
    - Document for content instead of creating.
    - Do not limit yourself to certain platforms on social media. Also, create native content that suits the platform you are trying to grow in.
    - Always look for new horizons to keep expanding your brand.
    - Bring value forward to create genuine connections and relationships.
    - There is no niche that is too strict or formal for a personal brand.
    - Do not focus on volume, rather focus on impact and customer experience.

Other notes: There were descriptions on how to use the platforms but you can find that on reviews and blogs. If you listen to the audiobook Gary's narrating style may be weird at first. Additionally, in the audiobook form he goes off script multiple times, which I found to be not bad but for some listeners, it may be annoying.

    My personal review: 10/10
Review for the general public: 8.5/10

    That's it,

Thank you for reading and enjoy!
