About this audiobook
Will it make a difference?
There's only one way to find out . . .
From when we were small girls, most of us dream of "The One," our future husband. We think about what it would be like to be a bride. We wonder who that special guy is and when we'll find him. The great news is that what you do now can make a difference in your life and the life of your future husband!
Authors and good friends Robin Jones Gunn (Christy Miller series) and Tricia Goyer (author and former teen mom) believe God answers women's prayers for husbands-even husbands they may not meet for years. They invite young women to pray boldly for their future mate . . . while also asking God to prepare their own hearts.
In Praying for Your Future Husband, Robin and Tricia share their two vastly different experiences, including the things they did right and the mistakes they made on the path to meeting and marrying their husbands. Each chapter includes helpful Bible verses, prayers, and practical application, along with true stories of women who prayed for a husband and how God answered in remarkable ways.
God has a beautiful romance prepared for you. Prayer is the key to unlocking the love story . . . with your future husband and with God, the lover of your soul.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5"God has a beautiful romance prepared for you. Prayer is the key to unlocking the love story … with your future husband and with God, the lover of your soul."Description: Praying for Your Future Husband- Preparing Your Heart for His is a book for Christian females, (teens and older), containing stories about finding "The One", and the struggles we sometimes face along the way. Besides stories, there are patches of scripture throughout, and many opportunities to write down thoughts and reflections; there are also discussion questions and exercises included.Review: Honestly, I had never pondered about praying for my future significant other. First thoughts: How does that work? and, Would it really make a difference? Well, after reading through 13 chapters and 207 pages of stories and scripture-filled prayer ideas, I have to say, I actually get it. The way this book is set up, it does an amazing job answering the why's and how's. Subjects include praying for: his heart, a God lover, patience, understanding, trust, loyalty and faithfulness, strength, protection, intimacy, "the List", contentment, and commitment. I also really liked how they included a section of scriptures to be used in prayer, and a section in each chapter for reflection and feelings on specific topics of discussion. The authors, Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer write great books, so I had a feeling that this collaboration would also produce a noteworthy book, even if I didn't originally get the why's, and it is just that. Full of wisdom, hope, inspiration, and encouragement, Praying for Your Future Husband is a must-read for anyone who has ever thought about having a husband or being a wife. I believe that it would also benefit men to read this book, or maybe a couple authors should write a more male-based "Praying for Your Future Wife..." book. Thanks for renewing my outlook on the future, your experiences have, and will continue to influence your readers.Rating: On the Run (4.5/5)*** I received this book from WaterBrook Multnomah (Blogging For Books) in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5First, I must say that I’m not a single woman who is waiting for her future husband. I’ve been married for almost ten years now, but I am the mother of four little girls so far, and we’ve already started praying for their future husbands.Praying for Your Future Husband is written by two Christian novelists who not only have hearts for God, but who share their own experiences waiting and praying for their husbands AND as mothers of children who have waited and prayed for spouses of their own. Along with the testimonies of these two families there are also stories of God’s goodness in answering the faithful prayers of waiting young women who prayed for their unknown husbands with bold determination. I have to admit that I cried…several times as I read these beautiful, God-redeemed accounts from the heart.Broken into thirteen chapters that focus in upon one specific topic and area of growth to pray for, Tricia Goyer and Robin Jones Gunn share their own stories alongside specific ways to pray for both a future husband AND for the personal character development of the young woman who is praying. Using this double-pronged approach the authors gently encourage women to grow in the ways that they hope their own future spouses will be growing as they both prepare and wait for marriage.Goyer and Gunn have very different stories that led to their marriage to the men God had for them, both are honest and transparent about where they fell short as young women, and how God led them through difficult times while they were waiting for The One. Goyer in particular has a heart for young women who have made mistakes and given away parts of themselves before finding their future husband. She shares honestly (but not graphically) about her own abortion, out-of-wedlock child, and the Godly man who came to love them both. I am so thankful for Goyer’s truthful sharing and ministry to young women. The hope that she has to offer women who have made mistakes and now want to commit their ways to the Lord is priceless. The authors have a strong, Godly emphasis upon purity, patience, putting God’s will first, being content during waiting, and many other topics. They start from the foundational issues – praying that the future husband will come to know God, to seek after Him, to love Him, and then moving into other areas that build upon the foundation of knowing and loving God.The chapters focus on: his heart, being a God Lover, patience, understanding, trust, loyalty and faithfulness, strength, protection, intimacy, “The List” (which by the way is much more about character than it is about external details), contentment and commitment. A list of 52 specific scriptures (one for each week) is also provided for young women who seek to pray the Word of God for their future husband. We are a courtship-minded family, and though the authors speak in terms of dating, they do strongly encourage young men and women to save everything for their future spouse. I have been so blessed by reading this book, and I highly, highly recommend you obtain a copy. If you have a daughter it isn’t too early to get this book and start praying for her future spouse today. If your is in her teens, this is an excellent book to read together as your family joins in praying together for the one who will some day become your child’s life mate.Reviewed at quiverfullfamily.com
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Praying for Your Future Husband Preparing Your Heart for His by Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer is a book for young Christian women. It's exactly what the title says, a sort of guidebook for praying for your future husband, yourself, and your future relationship. The book has questions at the end of every chapter for more in depth thinking on each subject. Also, it has scriptures at the end relating to it all.First off, I absolutely adore the cover. Yes, I can be swayed by a book cover. This one with the clouds and fields, I can just feel a warm spring breeze passing through! The authors have a good subject here, I think. It is important to pray for everything in life, and especially something as important as your future husband. They take turns relating their own life experiences with men. They are completely, even sometimes painfully, honest about the choices they made.I liked the book, although I do wish they had written it for women of all ages. Not being a young woman anymore, some of the advice didn't quite mesh for me. But there are things to learn from it about prayer and trusting God that are good for all ages!*Disclaimer: I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.
