      Good story. Nothing earth-shattering, but still enjoyable and entertaining. Narration was decent, too.

      Teagan Monroe is having a really bad day. First, she gets fired from her job at the library only to come back home to find her boyfriend of seven years getting it on with another woman…in their bed, no less! Deciding on leaving him, she packs up all of her belongings and loads her Prius and is off. Luck certainly is not on her side when she rear ends the Mercedes in front of her. The Mercedes belongs to none other than the richest playboy in all of Portland, Corbin Lane.

      Corbin Lane is also having a really bad day. His grandmother passed away recently and today was the reading of her will. A stipulation was set where he had to marry within the next six months and stay married for two years in order to get his grandmother’s house that he loved so much. On top of the news he has received, he gets rear ended. Only, the gorgeous woman who steps out of the Prius may just be the answer he has been in search of.

      Can an unlucky day for both Teagan and Corbin turn into something much much more then either one of them bargained for?

      I have to say that the fake wife/marriage of convenience trope is probably one of my favorites. I know, I know its been played so many times, but I still can’t seem to get enough of them. Something about two people coming together under false pretenses and realizing they were made for each other makes me want to do a happy dance. So, I knew that this book, after reading the blurb, was right in my wheelhouse. I am so glad to say that FAKE WIFE did not disappoint.

      I really loved both Teagan and Corbin. They are both multi-dimensional characters and the author, Stacey Lynn, did a great job bringing them to life for me. Teagan is your normal average girl. She may not have a lot of money but, she has a heart of gold. She is down to earth and loving. Corbin on the other hand is rich and comes from old money. All he has ever dated were socialites who wanted him for his money. When Corbin meets Teagan, he instantly recognizes that she is different from the rest. He slowly starts to open up to her about his dysfunctional family and in the process they start to get closer. Will their new fondness for each other lead to their happily ever after or will obstacles stand in their way?

      FAKE WIFE is a lighthearted, quick and easy read. While there is nothing particularly new about the story, I still really enjoyed the story and the characters. Stacey Lynn really knows how to write sweet and emotional characters who are not afraid to say how they feel. There is some conflict, but it wrapped up rather nicely. Much better than I ever anticipated actually, which came as quite a surprise to me. I do have to say though that the secondary characters – Caitlin and Trey – can they please have a story? I would really love to see a friends to lovers story for these two.

      If you love a marriage of convenience theme, I would really suggest you pick up a copy of FAKE WIFE and fall in love with the characters like I have.
