About this audiobook
Family man or deranged killer? It’s for fearless PI Jessie Cole to find out. At any cost.
Ever since a car accident left reporter Ben Morrison with amnesia, he’s been trying to rebuild a future as he puts together the pieces of his past. With the help of PI Jessie Cole, he’s getting closer. But few who remember Ben’s troubled childhood want to talk. And those who do—including his father, imprisoned for a shocking crime—are stirring disturbing memories given up for dead.
Then Jessie is sidetracked by a surveillance request from a suspicious husband. An ordinary case, until the cheating wife and lover are found murdered. They bear the trademark wounds of an elusive serial killer who’s now leading Jessie down a chilling path—one that’s about to put a dangerous twist in the search for Ben’s identity.
To discover the truth, Jessie must put more at risk than she ever feared. Because there are more secrets to Ben’s past, than she—or even Ben—ever imagined.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This series continues to be good. I'm hooked and looking forward to the next book in the series. The character development is important to understanding the interactions and plot developments, and so I'd highly recommend beginning with the first book of the series. I don't recommend reading this third one 'Deranged' as a stand-alone. There is a continuing thread, a mystery surrounding one of the main characters, and so it's important for context to understand what is known and what is suspected. While there aren't any sex scenes in it, there is romance as a secondary element, with suspense being the dominant genre. The author does a good job of exploring psychological elements as well.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Ever since an accident left him with retrograde amnesia, Ben Morrison has worked to rebuild his life and to put together the pieces of his past. Private investigator Jessie Cole is helping him, but the people who remember Ben’s troubled childhood are reluctant to talk to either of them. And the few who will discuss Ben’s early years have disturbing things to say. A husband requesting surveillance of his wife sidetracks Jessie’s investigation. But her vigil comes to an abrupt end when tragedy strikes and a young detective draws a connection with murder other cases. Without warning, in her search for the truth, everything Jessie values is suddenly at risk. Strong character development, an intriguing plot, and unexpected twists keep the tension mounting as the disparate plotlines come together in an exciting denouement. Readers new to the series will find enough information to enjoy the story as a standalone, but checking out the two previous books will provide some enriching background for the narrative. Astute readers may identify the murderer before the reveal late in the story, but the unfolding story surrounding the deranged killer will keep the pages turning. The only unfortunate thing about this book is the excessive, unnecessary use of offensive and coarse language. It is a blight in the otherwise wonderful telling of the tale.Recommended. I received an advance copy of this e-book from Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley.#Deranged #NetGalley
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Jessie is a Private investigator working in Sacramento barely making ends meet. She's raising her niece, Olivia who is about to turn 16 and wants more independence. Jessie finds herself at odds with this because she is well aware of the dangers that await a young girl out by herself. She's also helping her good friend, Ben Morrison out who was in a car accident several years ago and suffers from a form of amnesia that has blocked his childhood memories out. Ben's starting to have terrible flashbacks and suffers from extreme emotions that are not in his character. He's moved out of his family home until he can be sure that he isn't a danger to his family.Ben's a crime reporter, so he's seen some pretty awful things. These feelings are way too intense, and the flashbacks are very vivid. Could they be from something Ben's reported or could it be more sinister?Meanwhile, Jessie Boyfriend, Colin Grayson is a homicide detective with the Sacramento P.D. He's chasing down what looks to be a serial killer. This book has several different plots going, and it will keep you in reading until you get to the end. I haven't read the first two books in this series, but I will be that's a given. I would have enjoyed it more if I had a little more information on how all these different characters' fit together but I found, but it didn't take away from the book at all.It looks like she's having another book released in 2019, I'll be looking forward to it for sure.Disclosure:I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book for my honest opinion, the opinions I expressed above are my own.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5OH NO SHE DIDN'T! I was so engrossed with this novel so I didn't see,"THE END" How could Ms. Regan stop now? I loved Jessie Cole and her sure footed approach to getting answers, although her boyfriend was easy on the eyes! As I never read book one, I had no clue how Jessie lost her gun caring card. Someone was killing employees in a top and biggest health insurance company and the deranged person sent letters to reporter Ben Morrison now have to find out who the killer is as Owen Shepard refused to issue a public apology and make experimental medicine approved for those that need it so badly. Two lives are taken and a desperate father decides to take Owen's daughter, kill her slowly, record her death and send it to Emily;s dad so that Owen could see how he had suffered and watched his only daughter die. Meanwhile, Ben has no memory of his life before he had an accident, and it is eating at him to remember why his sister didn't want anything to do with him and she refused to tell him why, saying that it was a blessing that he didn't remember. I can hardly wait for book 3!
