The beginning of the book is useful for people looking to get a dog. But I stopped listening as soon as she started talking about dominance and being the alpha. This is an outdated belief and has been debunked. Maybe she explains more later in the book but I'm not wasting my time to find out. I'm experienced in dog training and behavior so I'm familiar with this. But it's unfortunate that first time dog owners might read this and think they need to be the "alpha."
