About this audiobook
From YouTube star and Facebook Video sensation Laura Clery comes a collection of comedic essays in the vein of We Are Never Meeting in Real Life by Samantha Irby and You’ll Grow Out of It by Jessi Klein.
Laura Clery makes a living by sharing inappropriate comedy sketches with millions of strangers on the Internet. She writes songs about her anatomy, talks trash about her one-eyed rescue pug, and sexually harasses her husband, Stephen. And it pays the bills!
Now, in her first-ever book, Laura recounts how she went from being a dangerously impulsive, broke, unemployable, suicidal, cocaine-addicted narcissist, crippled by fear and hopping from one toxic romance to the next…to a more-happy-than-not, somewhat rational, meditating, vegan yogi with good credit, a great marriage, a fantastic career, and four unfortunate-looking rescue animals. Still, above all, Laura remains an amazingly talented, adorable, and vulnerable, self-described…Idiot.
With her signature brand of offbeat, no-holds-barred humor, Idiot introduces you to a wildly original—and undeniably relatable—new voice.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a great book, so inspirational on how people can change when they make that choice. Very powerful stuff. I cried and I laughed. I was so sad that Laura went though all that. I was legit scared at parts! I am so happy for her, her family and where they are at now in life.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really loved it. Thank you for addressing the stigma that addiction is a choice not a disease.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book, funny and educative, scary and interesting, I highly recommend it
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I know Laura Clery through her YouTube videos, which are hysterical even when they're uncomfortable (looking at you, Helen Horvat!!!)) The incredibly insane journey Laura has taken to get where she's at , sober and successful, was entertaining in so many ways. Listening to her tale of self-destruction and then self realization shows what hard work it is to battle addictions as well as self-doubt. To watch somebody screw themselves up over and over again and see that it is doable to keep coming back it's pretty darn inspirational! Great book and I hope for her and Stephen's continued success.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5the thing that makes me wanna listen to it more is the way how you tell all of it with feelings. And the way you cope with all of those things that happened to you. Gaaaahd I truly recommend this ?❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Laura takes you on a terrifying and yet, hilarious, journey of her life growing up in the outskirts of Chicago and through her time in NYC and LA & everything in between. She is such an emotionally raw, honest, and compelling person. This book was so well written and read by her, and I am grateful to be able to listen to it. My family and friends have struggled with addiction as well, a topic addressed a lot in this book, and it provided me with great insight into what they may be thinking about in their roads to recovery.
You'll laugh, you'll maybe cry a little bit, and you'll get a sense of triumph right along with her in the authentic journey of her life.
This book is as Brilliant, Funny, & Beautiful as the author. Listen to her story - you won't regret it. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Just like most, I found out about this through social media. Laura and Steven's videos make me laugh all the time so I decided why not give the book a listen too.
I love this book mainly because it gave me a look at the real Laura Clery. The one that I don't see on her videos. I listened to this during lockdown and it was indeed the perfect book to help me get through the anxiety and negativity these days have been constantly bringing.
I definitely can say I loooove Laura now. Not just a simple "LIKE" that usually is given to content creators on social media.
Thank you so much for sharing your story to the world and I look forward to more smiles and laughter brought by you Laura. Your purpose is truly reaching others now in a fulfilling level.
Cheers! (of water) ;) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book grabs your attention from start to finish. No dull chapter. Love that it is funny, sad, suspense, romance, name it. It’s all the emotions. Oh and it’s inspirational, got some tips to on daily gratitude. Great book!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5She is honest about her tough background and numerous bad life choices. But it’s inspiring and fun at the same time. I recommend it!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Happy, joyful.. tone of voice! Though the story is not happy at times, i like that it captured Laura's spirit in all it' glory. Also, since i've recently started checking her Facebook videos it's nice to get some insight on the person behind.

I would listen to this on my bike on my way to work, every so often I would laugh out loud and terrify a passing pedestrian. I loved it. I'm going to read it again.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I need this book would be just as good as I thought it would be it did not let me down any anyway. I love help Helen smash and I enjoy watching her family with her new son how was the drug addict in my past. And that's all behind me now. But I would give anything in the world two guys spend one week in California! Reason I say this is cuz I'm from Southeast Georgia and I've always wanted to visit California and I wish I had parents like she did like Laura does to push me in the right direction instead of turning to drugs. Well I love you Laura Clary so much I want to be your BFF my name is Brittany Bohannon I am 32 years old I have a 4 year old daughter name Willow and we absolutely love you continue doing great thanks girl.!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Laura is charming and endearing, her story hits some really dark spots but the whole book is delivered hilariously. Congratulations Laura on an inspiring journey:)

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Funny, heart wrenching and filled with hope. A fantastic insight into the world of addicts and the journey into sobriety and into fulfilment and happiness.
It deals with a lot of dark themes but as a comedian, Laura knows how to bring it back when it needs to.
