About this audiobook

When two women go missing in the Montana wilderness, Pete Brooks must trust his skills, teammates--and the woman who broke his heart--if he hopes to bring them all home alive. Pete Brooks can't believe he's waited an entire year for Jess Tagg to return to Montana, only to have her break his heart by getting engaged to her ex-fiance. Worse, a series of mistakes on the job have cost lives, and Pete isn't sure he wants to continue to work in Search and Rescue. Maybe if he can just get over Jess, he can figure out how to move forward. EMT Jess Tagg has returned to Montana to finally give her heart to Pete, but it seems he's no longer interested. When a terrible fight between them sparks an impulsive decision, she finds herself crashed on the side of a highway along with Esme Shaw. And just when she thinks things couldn't get any worse, she and Esme are taken captive and into the untamed Montana wilderness--with murderous intent. Now Pete and the other PEAK Rescue Team members are in a race against time, the elements, and the actions of a vengeful man. Pete will have to use everything he's learned to find Jess and Esme--and pray that his past mistakes don't cost him the life of the woman he can't stop loving.

So, at the beginning of this book I have to say I was tired of the Pete/Jess on-again/off-again relationship and just wanted the author to decide once and for all if they were going to be a couple or go their separate ways--I'm glad to say that she does seem to have resolved that. For me, the book didn't really get going until partway through when the truck got rammed leaving Ned, Shae, and Jess out in the wilderness with the rest of the team needing to search for them. Yes, I appreciated Ned coming to Montana to see Shae and that Sam and Willow were finally ready to tie the knot--but the rest just felt like it drew the story out to fill a page count.Apparently this is the final book (or at least for a while) in the Montana Rescue series--though the author hinted she might check in on these characters in the future and I hope she does. Perhaps they will appear as supporting characters in a another series she writes or maybe she'll come up with another story in the future to highlight them. I'd really like to follow Ned's journey through Navy basic training and BUDs--interesting that he's entering the SEALS just as his brother left them. It would have been nice to see both brothers working together. I'm still not sure how he qualified to be a SEAL given all his injuries, but . . . we will see.

Wait For Me is the final installment in the Montana Rescue series by Susan May Warren. Like the rest of the novels in this series, Wait For Me was well-written, fast-paced, and held my attention. This particular novel was stuffed with emotional angst in addition to suspense and mystery. I liked that the author quietly sewed in a theme of leaning in and trusting in God's love for His children. She held true to the dichotomy that while God's love will ultimately preserve us, it doesn't always prevent us from hurt and injury. Still, God's love is presented as a source of hope and reason for faith. I recommend reading the entire series before reading Wait for Me because Jess and Pete's relationship develops substantially in other books. The series long saga of Esme/Shae is finally resolved and the main characters from prior books play roles in Wait for Me. Readers who have enjoyed the Montana Rescue series by Susan May Warren will enjoy reading the final riveting installment. My personal favorites are Wild Montana Skies (Book 1) and Troubled Waters (Book 4). I recommend the entire series to fans of Christian romance. Each novel is filled with intense danger, growing faith, and delicious romance.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher. "But perhaps that was what love looked like too. Not perfect, but raw and jagged and terrifying and wounding...and beautiful and overwhelming and completely, wonderfully out of her control. Because love gave all."What an incredible conclusion to this epic series! As always, Susan May Warren packs in action, suspense, harrowing brushes with death and disaster, and quite a few twists and turns in the story to make you stay up way past your bedtime reading....and thinking, just one more page....And the raw emotional intensity of the main characters is completely heart-wrenching and real. If you've read the previous books in the series, you've been impatiently waiting for Pete and Jess to have their story. Even if you haven't read any of the previous books, this particular book can be read as a stand alone because there are many flashbacks that make up the bulk of Pete and Jess' story that even the die-hard followers of the series have not be privy to in the other books.Pete is a changed man and gone are his wild ways. He's still heroic, protective to a fault, and passionate but he's completely undone and broken and wounded by Jess who has returned to her glamorous lifestyle in NYC. Jess doesn't know who she is or what she wants and feels trapped. Felipe, Jess' previous fiance, actually plays a bigger role in the story than I thought he would and became quite likable even though he's competing against Pete for Jess. And then there are Ned and Shae. Ned is the younger version of Pete and so incredibly heroic. Shae has finally returned home to Mercy Falls, Montana not just to attend Ben and Kacey's wedding reception but also to find closure in her run from the man who killed her previous boyfriend. Each of these characters must learn to fight their fears to conquer them but also learn to ask for help from their friends, family, and God in conquering these fears. What a satisfying finale to an adrenaline-packed series full of rescue, grace, hope, love, joy, and faith.I received a copy of the book from Baker Publishing Group via LibraryThing and was under no obligation to post a review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

This is sort of a conclusion to the series about a Montana rescue team. It follows the last two members to finally get together, Pete and Jess. Pretty good story about the intriguing Jess, also known as Selene. She hides her true identity from the team and this book sums up what happens to she and Pete. Also finishes the story of Esme Shaw, also known as Shae and how her instincts were correct about Randy Blackburn. Since I have read all of the series, this was a nice way to wrap it up.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) I really really wasn't crazy about this book, and it may have had to do with the fact that it was the 5th book in this series and I had not started from the beginning but I can honestly tell you that when I have had done that before, not the norm with me, After I started reading I have no desire to go back and start at the beginning I was bored, there was a lot of characters and chaos and going back in the past..Eventually Jess the main female character and Pete the main male character ended up together after a lot of ridiculousness. Didn't give it a two, because the writing was well done, just not my cup of tea.

This was a good book. I enjoyed all the rescue parts of the book. I haven't read the first 5 in the series and had no trouble following and enjoying the story. I found myself cheering Pete on. There was enough action and adventure to keep this from being a pure romance. One of the things that made this book interesting was there was a wide variety of locales it was set in or referred to, with Paris, New York and Montana all as part of the story. The character development was detailed enough to help me be invested in the success of their relationships and being able to care about what happens to them.I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Pete Brooks is known for his daring rescues, but not all of them have been successful. He has also fallen in love with Jess, who has accepted his proposal. When Jess, also known as Selene, learns that her mother is dying she agrees to a fake engagement with Felipe to keep her mother happy; but she does not tell Pete.Things become more complicated when the truck Jess is riding in (along with Ned and Shae) is run off the road and the three are kidnapped. They escape in spite of their injuries, but do not know where they have been taken. Jess hopes that Pete will come to her rescue, but danger seems to pursue them. This plot suffers from too many characters, several with multiple names; it is difficult to keep track of everyone and how they are related. There are also references to previous books in the series and a lot of flashbacks which distract from the main plot. While marketed as Christian fiction, the faith aspect is a very minor part of the plot and could have been better developed. This will primarily be of interest to readers of the earlier books.

I was so excited to finally get Jess and Pete’s story! I have adored them since the second book in this series, and Susan May Warren has done a wonderful job at hinting enough at their relationship to keep their story intriguing. I have always felt like they were absolutely perfect for each other, and Jess make Pete a much better person. This book was a perfect final book to an absolutely amazing series. Although I am sad that it is finished, I am so glad that it ended well. Sometimes book series end up getting worse as they go on, and you end up just glad that they are over, this was not one of them. I loved this series and highly recommend it to anyone who loves good adventure/romance/and thrilling stories. *I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.*

Wait for Me is part of the Montana Rescue Series. This is only the second book that I have read of the series. Susan refers back to other books with enough of a reminder that the reader isn't lost in who did what. Yet without reading the other book, I would wonder why is this important? Maybe as background, and review? This book did a better job at keeping to the key characters and using the others as secondary characters, although there were many to keep straight. The twists and changes in the plot kept me reading. Although the faith thread seemed hinted at throughout, it wasn't a Christian faith, but just a "belief in doing better" and "giving it to God." I appreciate the clean read, but of the Christian faith, it is not. That was disappointing. Also for a "Christian" book, more should drive the couples actions than the next time they touch. The repetition of this almost made me put the book away.I received a free copy of the book from the publisher.

Wait For Me is the sixth and final book to the Montana Rescue Series. If you are a follower of Susan's books, you know that this series started out with Wild Montana Skies. In the first book we are introduced to the search and rescue, PEAK team members. Throughout the following books, one team member is featured in the story with the rest being a supporting cast. This was a much awaited ending to a great series. Pete Brooks and Jess Tagg, I believe were a favorite of many. We all were pulling for them, and to finally have there own book, what a delight. Susan has written a wonderful tribute to the EMT's, Firemen, Smoke Jumpers, Police, and Search and Rescue Teams. She has done a great job, even though it is a fictional story, of giving us just a glimpse of what they face every time they go out. They are our true heroes. Her books are full of drama, suspense, romance and a thread of faith and hope woven within each story. If you are a Susan May Warren reader, you must get this book.I was given a copy of this book by Revell Publishers through LibraryThing Early Reviewers. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This is the last book in the Montana Rescue Series. This book is centered around Jess and Pete. They are also in other books in the series but as in the other books, the story revolves around 2 main characters, Jess and Pete. The characters are fairly well developed and interesting.I have not read all the books in the series but I have read a few of them. They are interesting and full of drama. They tell different things about rescuers and first defense people and the jobs they do. This book does the same but has a little more suspense than some of the others. What I did not like so much about this book is that there seemed to be a lot of things repeated not just from other books but things in this book itself seemed to be repeated. I skipped several paragraphs at a time and do not feel like I missed out on anything. The book I received was not final copy so it's hard to comment on the editing, but I can tell you I that this version still needs some work, though not much at all.I am writing this review is my own personal opinion. I was given an advanced readers copy, free of charge with no expectations.I rate the book 4 stars out of 5.

Wait for Me is the sixth and the final book in the Montana Rescue series. I think I liked this one best of all in the series. It has more suspense in it then the other books. This book got my attention from the get go and didn't let go until the end. This book focuses on on Pete and Jess who also goes by the name Selene and on Ned and Shae who formerly went by the name Esme Shaw. After an argument with Pete Jess accepts a ride with Ned and Shae but almost immediately their lives are in danger. Who wants them dead? Jess thinks it could be someone from her past who wants revenge because of what her father did. Shae was a witness to her boyfriend's murder some five years earlier and she thinks this person has discovered her identity and is after her. I was kept in suspense until the end trying to guess who the bad guy was in all of this and it was not who I suspected. Just when you think it is over and everyone is safe and happy there are some twists. I highly recommend this book.I received this ARC book compliments of LibraryThing's Early Review program and the publisher Revell. This book will be published on November 6, 2018.
