      Still hate the over-enunciation of the t's at the end of the words by Emily Rankin - love the story, though!

      A 2018 novella, book 3.5 in the Hidden Legacy series.A robbery investigation uncovers family drama and an assassination attempt.B (Good).The main mystery doesn't really work, since it's a whodunnit with too many characters to tell apart. And there's very little action. But I enjoyed it. Catalina is a good character, with some nice development and a fresh way of looking at magic.(Apr. 2023)

      Really love this series. The switch to the new narrator, (who is fantastic!), is done very well by this bridge piece. Plus wedding! Only Nevada and Connor so not your typical wedding lol

      Audiobook: Narrators – Renee Raudman and Emily Rankin
      Great narration on both these ladies’ parts! Ms. Raudman is highlighted in just a small portion as Nevada is not the primary character in this story. Ms. Rankin performs Catalina to perfection! I loved absolutely everything about the way she narrated her character as well as additional characters. Certainly a narrator I will look forward to listening more of in the future.

      This was a fast listen, but full of plenty of mystery and drama. I loved getting to really know more of Catalina and some of the things that make her tick or that hold her back. She could even possibly steal the stage from Nevada and I’d be hard pressed to know which one I’d rather read more about. I love that she fears using her magic and yet in this story she learns to utilize it. She’s got a lot to overcome in regards to her emotional response to the affect she has on those she uses it on. I’m hoping we get more about her and a possible romantic interest as this series moves forward. I’m crazy in love with everything to do with Catalina, Nevada and the rest of their crew as well as Rogan and his people.

      This is a novella and the first book of the Hidden Legacy series that focuses on Catalina (Nevada's sister). An heirloom is stolen from Roagn's family and Catalina is asked to investigate because Nevada is busy with final wedding preparations. I was excited to finally know more about Catalina and how her magic as a Siren worked. The story was fast paced and despite being a novella it was fully fleshed out. Looking forward to the next book and finding out more about Nevada.

      Ordinarily, I'm not a huge fan of wedding themed books, but this one was delightful. Hilarious banter, more time with some characters I've come to enjoy, more of the world, light on wedding. S'good.

      While I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first three, full-length Hidden Legacy novels that featured Nevada and Rogan, it was a nice little segue; it tied off all the loose ends in the Nevada/Rogan story line (not that there were many), while setting up the new background for the series to continue with a focus on Catalina, Nevada's sister. Catalina's power didn't interest me much in the previous books, but Andrews adds some interesting dimensions to it in this short story that have me intrigued. The plot, intricate for such a short story (143 pages), was two-pronged: who stole a tiara and who was trying to kill off the wedding guests? Were they one in the same, or different enemies? The resolution was both satisfying and sort of ... cute. I feel like I should have seen that coming, but I didn't. And that's why I like Ilona Andrews. I'm definitely looking forward to the next full-length story.

      I love Rogan and Nevada, and have enjoyed their story immensely. This book, though, doesn't focus so much on them, even though it's about their wedding. The wedding is just a backdrop for Catalina to shine and a way for us to get to know Catalina more.

      It's a quick read, and I enjoyed the focus on Catalina and I can't wait for her story, because I'm pretty sure it's going to be great.

      Review to come but man I like Rogan’s mom.

      This novella is a great bridge to the new series. Catalina and Arabella have taken charge of Nevada and Rogan’s wedding after Nevada fired several planners for lying to her. Catalina has point on everything and the days are ticking down to the wedding an extra duty get added to her plate. All of Rogan’s extended family from his mother’s side of the family are staying at her house ahead of the wedding. A family heirloom that Arrosa Rogan’s family uses at the weddings has gone missing and the only someone with powers that run in Rogan’s family could have pulled off the job. Catalina must find out who did this and get it back to Arrosa and not use her very rare siren Prime powers to warp anyone’s brain. Lots of family politics are packed in this novella and the plus is it goes over the universe the books are set in without having to have read the previous trilogy. But go read the previous trilogy because damn those are fun.

      Planning wedding isn't ever simple and Nevada's and Rogan's attracts all kinds of trouble, mostly family. Catalina takes a lead roll and finds she must use all her abilities, and ones she didn't even know she had.

      As usual, I was hesitant to jump into a different characters head in a much beloved series, but Ilona Andrews made it easy. Catalina was fun to follow. She's different from her sister, but in a good way. I already knew about her power from previous books, but you really get a feel for how Catalina struggles with using it in DIAMOND FIRE. She can't trust if interest is real or because of her power which makes it hard for her to trust what males say to her. I enjoyed reading about Catalina taking the reigns on the investigation of the story and she did a really great job of solving not only the main mystery, but unveiling secrets that were hidden in the family that could have hurt her family in the future.DIAMOND FIRE was a nice little sneak peek into what we should expect from Catalina as we dive into her part of the Hidden Legacy series.* This book was provided free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

      This was a nice little novellas, amusing but also with a little suspense. There is a transition going on from books where Nevada is the centerpiece, POV, to where Catalina is. Catalina is still growing into her powers and maturing but whe seems like a fast-learner. Not as much action and mayhem as in the longer books and that is fine with me.

Catalina realizes that in order to solve the mystery she'll have to do the one thing she dreads most: use her magic. As a Prime of her House she knows that this would happen eventually and there's nothing Catalina wouldn't do for her sister's happiness.Diamond Fire is a novella in the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews. It's a silly little mystery that serves as transition from Nevada's trilogy to Catalina's point of view for the upcoming novels. Turns out that Rogan has a lot of family members and most of them aren't very nice. Catalina has her hands full managing them as well as learning to use her power in a controlled manner. Speaking of powers, boy do I feel bad for Catalina! That is one magical power that must have made growing up very difficult. It also provides a lot of story options for her future books.

      I loved this novella! Absolutely loved it! It is hard not to gush over how much I loved this book so I am just going to go with it. I adore the Hidden Legacy series and have read the original three books two or three times each already so I was really excited to learn that the series would be continuing. I was really excited to see this world through Catalina's eyes and I was not disappointed. I had so much fun with this story.I love Nevada and Mad Rogan but I really like the rest of Nevada's family as well so I am more than okay with the torch being passed along to Catalina. I like Catalina even more after reading this story. I felt like I knew her before I got started with this novella but the amount of character development in this short piece was extraordinary. In this story, readers actually see more of Mad Rogan than Nevada which I think worked perfectly since it gave Catalina a chance to really stand on her own for the story. I also fell in love with Rogan's mom. She was amazing in this story and I hope we get to see a whole lot more of her in future books.There is a mystery that needs to be solved on top the upcoming wedding. There is a big group of Rogan's extended family in town for the wedding and causing a whole lot of trouble at the same time. This is not a very likable group overall and it was hard to trust most of them. It was a lot of fun to watch Catalina navigate such a complicated group of individuals and get to the bottom of it all.I would highly recommend this story to others. I think that it could work as a stand-alone but I think that it really works better when read in series order. This series is amazing and you don't want to miss any of the books anyway so I would suggest starting with Burn for Me.       This novella stars Catalina who has become the wedding planner for her sister Nevada's wedding to Mad Rogan. Of course, besides trying to plan the wedding, she also has to deal with someone who wants to kill Nevada and Rogan enough to plot their death by poisoning their wedding case. Also there is a missing tiara and all sorts of family drama and crime for Catalina to clear up before the wedding. Catalina begins to come to terms with her very unusual and scary psychic power.

      I love the Hidden Legacy series. In book 3.5, DIAMOND FIRE, Nevada Baylor and Connor Rogan are getting married. The wedding is the talk of the town. Nevada’s younger sister Catalina is her maid of honor and doing everything in her power to make sure that the wedding runs smoothly. This includes acting as the wedding planner after the second planner has been fired and finding the priceless heirloom wedding tiara that has gone missing.I like Catalina. She is uncomfortable with her Siren talent and needs to embrace it. I like how her magic is similar to Nevada’s but also very different. It is understandable why she is wary of her magic. I’m looking forward to her upcoming series of books to see how she develops. I feel like she has taken a step in the right direction in this story.DIAMOND FIRE was an exciting and entertaining read throughout. I found the bridezilla aspect of the story amusing. The mystery of the stolen tiara was a thrilling plot. I like how it involved family members and the sensitivity surrounding the case. The story had interesting twists. DIAMOND FIRE is a wonderful addition to the series. I’m looking forward to the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

      This book takes place after the 3rd book in the Hidden Legacy series. It was an okay read but not great. It’s very short and mainly transitions the reader from Nevada’s story to Catalina’s story.The book is about Nevada and Rogan’s wedding, but the story is told from her sister Catalina’s viewpoint. An expensive jewel is stolen and Catalina is tasked with finding it. In the process she uncovers a variety of secrets about Rogan’s extended family. This is pretty short and took me maybe an hour or so to read.Overall this is okay but not great. I would recommend to fans of the Hidden Legacy series because it transitions us from Nevada’s story to Catalina’s story. It’s a quick read and provides a bit of background info but isn’t completely necessary or all that interesting. I wouldn’t recommend reading as a stand alone.
