About this audiobook
From Readers' Favorite Book Award winner Becky Monson comes the first book in a chick lit romance series that will keep you laughing.
Julia Dorning is a spinster, or at least on the road to becoming one. She has no social life, hates her career, and lives in her parent's basement with her cat, Charlie.
With the arrival of Jared Moody, the new hire at work, Julia's mundane life is suddenly turned upside down. Her instant (and totally ridiculous) crush on the new guy causes Julia to finally make some long-overdue changes, in hopes to find a life that includes more than baking and hanging out with Charlie.
But when the biggest and most unexpected change comes, will the new and improved Julia be able to overcome it? Or will she go back to her spinster ways?

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Look, I'm not saying the book is bad. I actually think it is a good chick lit, but i am a woman in IT and having the story start the way it started just gave me na uneasy feeling.
Nonetheless, if i would have drunk everytime she said "spinster" i would be in a coma.
I get that's the lait motif for this book, but let's not say spinster every 2 words, k?
The first 30% of the book were dreadful. The depiction of women in tech was nonexistent or maybe mapped into the word "nerd" she used to describe her co-workers. In a tech company, a woman's place is in HR or in accounting - this is the underline of the first few minutes.
I like how dumbfolded she is about Gerard's place in the company, but i like how her friend wasn't fouled (half star for that). And another half star for the las 30% of the book, where she finds her happiness.
