About this audiobook
Can a woman with her past and secrets ever take a chance on love?
Being a single mom is tough, but Carla doesn’t mind the minivan and the PTA meetings. What does concern her are the random acts of violence striking too close to home.
Has someone discovered her secret alter ego?
An assassin for hire, Carla’s done her best to cover her tracks. The coach who keeps flirting with her doesn’t appear to suspect that she’s more than she seems; however, when danger threatens, Carla won’t be able to hide the fact that she’s a killer mom.
And she’ll do anything to keep her son safe.

My rating range of this story... 2 - 4 Stars
If significant, why? The h was very difficult to like for 80% of the story.

How much of the story? 20%
Anything beyond M/F? No

Heat Rating... 7/10
Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2
Normal to Descriptive 3-5
Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above
Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? Almost
The back story... The h was raised in an abusive household, then moved in with a dangerous and abusive gang member and had a child. She gets away but her entire family is killed. She is recruited into a mercenary agency and that is where the story begins.
The Romance... Really hard to see as the h was grating. She treated the H terribly through most of the story. I wish the author started softening the h around the 50% mark instead of the 80% mark.
The drama explosion... Bad guys attack
Did it feel real or contrived? Mostly real
Was it OTT? A bit
Separation involved? Short
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Properly!
Final Notes... The h was just too prickly through most of the story which made it difficult to care about how the story was going to end.
HEA or HFN?
