About this audiobook

WINTER

Sending him to prison was the worst thing I could've done. It didn't matter that he did the crime or that I wished he was dead. Perhaps I thought I'd have time to disappear before he got out or he'd cool off in jail and be anything but the horror he was. But I was wrong. Three years came and went too fast, and now he's anything but calm. Prison only gave him time to plan. And while I anticipated his vengeance, I didn't expect this. He doesn't want to make me hurt. He wants to make everything hurt.

DAMON

First thing's first. Get rid of her daddy. He told them I forced her. He told them his little girl was a victim, but I was a kid, too, and she wanted it just as much as I did.

Step two . . . Give her, her sister, and her mother nowhere to run and no fuel to escape. The Ashby women are alone now and desperate for a knight in shining armor. But that's not what's coming. No, it's time I listened to my father and took control of my future. It's time I showed them all-my family, her family, my friends-that I will never change and that I have no other ambition than to be the nightmare of their lives.

Contains mature themes.

This story is sooo good. If smut was a person, it would be this book. The plot was great, and just the chemistry between Damon and winter, chefs kiss. Really recommend. Just be warned about the smut and the brain twisters

Don't you just love it when you hate a character and then you get to his book and end up loving him?

Winter is the reason for Damon's going to prison. Now it's time to make her pay. Insert yourself back into her life, control her every move and make her lose her heart for you. But how do you spend so much time around a person you share a past with and not wonder what it would be like now if certain things didn't happen the way they did?

A redemption arc for Damon. Here we see all the awful events that shaped him. However, the thing that got me here was his approach to Winter. Of course he loved her, but he didn't coddle her. He enforced the idea that she was a capable woman and didn't allow anyone to treat her as less than.

Obviously, there was plenty of drama that I loved. Not only did Damon have to win Winter back, but he also had to prove to his friends that he was their ally and earn their forgiveness for the shit he put them through. I just wish we had more drama with Winter's sister. This issue was dissolved too easily for my taste.

Some of the chapters cut off before the end, so there are parts missing. Very annoying to miss entire sections of the book!

Enjoying the book, but this version of the audio is terrible, missing entire chapters and other chapters cut off. Read it on KU instead.

It was interesting… definitely ended on a way different path than I even thought of when we started. The chapters do cut off, not sure if I missed anything important but it was okay otherwise re narration.

Great 'bad boy/good girl' fluff, but the female narrator has a peculiar inflection that makes me want to stop listening. Thankfully Kindle unlimited has the series in print, because I'm invested in the universe.

Another great book in the series. I found this way more dark and graphic. This follows Damon and Winter. Damon has been through so much and I was so angry with the graphic scenes we got and how he was treated by the people who are ment to love and care for him. He is a tough MC but broken. Winter is innocent and was shocked when I found out the condition she had. I really wasn’t expecting it at all.
I loved when Damon opened up to Winter and let her in. Damon protecting her from a young age and caring for her I enjoyed the jump back in time to see them moments.

Okay so this series is very repetitive.
Boy meets girl in their childhood. Boy is obsessed over girl. Boy becomes a man whore and falls in love with girl he knew as a kid...

Damon's storyFinally, Damon is found and weirdly, everyone sort of understands what he's gone through. He has an obsession with Winter, a blind ballerina he's known since he was a child. She remembers Damon from the ill-fated Devil's Night that sent him to jail years ago. Now, he's married to her sister and she's trapped with him.Not sure what it says about me that I liked this one the best of them all. Winter is a strong character, much like all the females in this series but obviously, she's dealing with a grade-A psychopath in Damon. The psychological mind play in this is better than in the others simply because Winter is blind so everything else is heightened through her. In the end, you know everything will work out and it does.Check all trigger warnings and content warnings before reading. 18+. Recommend reading the other books first because there is a bigger plot going on throughout.**All thoughts and opinions are my own. Read on my personal KU subscription.**

This book just blew me. It was amazing! I cried, and I laughed, and I was angry and disappointed, but OMG, have I felt so many emotions before.

I am just gonna start by saying that Damon Torrance is a GODDAMN KING, baby. This man just took my heart from the first page and never gave it back. He is honestly the best book boyfriend, and I wish I could steal him. I love love love him. What he went through, how miserable he was, how lonely, how hurt, I wish I could give him a secure and safe childhood, cause he deserves it!

I've fallen. And can anyone blame me? He is way too goddamn perfect. He is a good friend, His relationship with will was just heartwarming, and If I should be honest, I shipped them at some point a good brother I wanted more scenes with him and Banks tho and fierce lover. So he is definitely 10/10.

Winter was... well... Winter was meh. I expected more. I think he deserved more. I loved their relationship when they were kids, how in love she was but, GOD, I was so angry when she betrayed him! Her irrational fear and anger, after she discovered who her ghost was, was way too much, and IMO she shouldn't have sent him to prison. and then the adult version was okay cause I appreciated her fight and everything, but something was missing . She was sweet tho, cute, and naive, but also not weak.

And here comes the time for my QUEEN Erika Fane - the greatest of them all! She is, I repeat, a QUEEN! Their relationship (her and Damon's) was so wholesome and really grew on me. Thank god, they were siblings, cause this chemistry couldn't go unnoted. I shipped them really really hard, cause she highlighted the best in him, and he made her stronger. She is the most non-dumb bitch, and absolutely my favourite female character ever

The storytelling on this book was breathtaking, even tho I have to announce nothing beats the first book in the series.

I classify this one as the best one yet, cause I found so many beautiful gems in it - aka quotes, and Damon was the absolute best. So here you go on my vote.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I always imagined Will as someone weak and in need of his friends, but the snippet at the end of the book gave me a totally different impression so I can't wait to read his and Emory's story.

this was such a treat honestly

i truly don't know how p.doug managed to make me like Damon, but she did and for that alone i could give this book 5 stars. he was an absolutely despicable person for 2 books, and although we knew he had major trauma it seemed like it would be impossible to get along with him well enough to endure an entire book about him. - wrong! wrong, wrong, wrong. him and winter were just perfect, i loved everything their relationship turned into. i just loved their story so much.

"I wish we never had to leave the fountain. We never did."

winter was lovely. damon's growth was lovely. i loved the way the other members of the gang fit into the story (why are michael and rika not married yet!!!)

this series has just gotten better and better with each book!!
much like the 2nd one, i think she did a great job with the dual timelines. it was easy to go back and forth from past to present, and i never felt like i was being pulled from either plot when they switched. and i appreciate that the past storyline wrapped up around 60% (guesstimate) of the way through and left the rest of the book to unfold in the present. when i read Corrupt, i felt like the past's storyline dragged on for entirely too long, and the jumps from past to present were too often and too abrupt. but again - she totally fixed that issue with Hideaway and Kill Switch.

i can't tell how will's book will further the overarching story, because things feel pretty wrapped up with Gabriel out of the picture. but if i know p.doug, she'll find some way to make it the best book lol

I did notice banks never told damon she was pregnant.... tea.
