About this audiobook

A fresh, irresistible rom-com from debut author Emma Lord about the chances we take, the paths life can lead us on, and how love can be found in the opposite place you expected.

Meet Pepper
, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming — mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.

Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time.

All’s fair in love and cheese — that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life — on an anonymous chat app Jack built.

As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate — people on the internet are shipping them?? — their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can’t ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected.

This was so stinking cute and also heartwarming. It is mostly realistic, which I love in romcoms. Both the protagonists are likeable and I rooted for them all throughout the book. The narration for both Jack and Pepper was perfect :)

All’s fair in love and cheese.

This story is told on different "levels".
There are Bluebird and Wolf that are texting anonymously on a chat app from their school that could reveal their identities any moment.
Then there are the Twitter Accounts of two family business restaurants - Big League Burger and Girl Cheesing - that get into a Twitter feud, because BLB apparently stole a recipe of GC's signature sandwich. Their meme-filled fight goes viral.
And then, there's Pepper and Jack. She is captain of the swim team and he is the one of the water polo one (or well, I'm pretty sure his identical twin Ethan is, but Ethan says yes to everything and when he realizes he doesn't have time, makes his twin Jack do it).
Their teams have to make arrangements for sharing the pool. During these meet ups, Pepper and Jack realize that they get along, and a friendship (or maybe more?) starts to grow.

What both of them don't know: Pepper aka Bluebird runs the BLB account. And Jack aka Wolf the one of GC.

This book was fluffy, cute, entertaining, filled with memes and cheese jokes (like their ship name... Pepperjack).
And apparently, this was Emma Lord's debut novel? Does not feel like one.
Tweet Cute gets a solid 4/5 stars from me. It had everything I expected from it: many online shenanigans and a bit of romance. Not quite 5 stars for me, because it was a bit too much of the Twitter war, and nothing surprising happened. But I would totally recommend it!!
