About this audiobook
Half of all marriages end, and, when they do, most parents hope to achieve a "good divorce" in which they can amicably raise their children with their former spouse. Unfortunately, about 20% of divorces are high-conflict, involving frequent visits to court, allegations of abuse, and chronic disagreements regarding parenting schedules.
In response to this conflict, some children become aligned with one parent against the other-even a parent who has done nothing to warrant the hostile rejection of their formerly loving children. These "targeted" parents suffer from the loss of time with their children, the pain of watching their children become distant, even cruel, and the uncertainty of not knowing if and when their children will come back to them. These parents are on a painful journey with an uncertain outcome. Surviving Parental Alienation fills the tremendous need for concrete help for these parents.
Too often parental alienation stories that are shared by word of mouth, on the internet, or in books depict unending pain and frightening outcomes. Surviving Parental Alienation provides true stories and information about parents who have reconnected with their lost and stolen children, and offers better insight and understanding into what exactly parental alienation is and how to handle it.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5There is no better book & no greater expert in Parental-Alienation than Dr. Amy Baker, a RESEARCH psychologist & educator who, along with an International Group of other research sccientists, is working not only to educate the victims of Parental-Alienation, but possibly more importantly, other psychologists giving skewed advice to, & being FOOLED by malignant covert-narcassists, who use that well-meaning "advice" as yet another weapon against the targeted parent; the entire legal system, including lawyers who are also being fooled by these pathological liars; & possibly most important of all, the JUDGES making life-altering decisions for both the targeted parent, & far worse (a big statement!), the CHILDREN of malignant covert-narcassists, who Dr. Baker also writes about extensively in this, & her companion book, who are almost surely doomed to misery, confusion, depression & more from the brainwashing done to them by the targeting parent. She & other experts compare Parental-Alienation from the childrens' perspective, as almost exactly like being in a CULT, & even recommding reading books ABOUT helping someone escape a cult because the similarities are so strong. You will find few, if any, other books that cover this devastating topic more thoroughly, & more expertly, than this & other related books by Dr. Baker. From my direct experience, the only other best book, that Dr. Baker mentions in her book, is the ground-breaking book, "In Sheep's Clothing," by Dr. George Simon. These two books (or three if you include Dr. Baker's other book, "Adult Children of Parental Alienation"). BTW, in suffering the effects of PAS for 13 years & counting, I've read virtually EVERY book on Parental-Alienation & Covert-Narcissim there is trying to find a way to stop the incidious manipulation of someone that's literally ruined life as I knew it, & more importantly to me, to rescue my 3 children from the "cult of their mother," which is virtually impossible when they're grown & not minors, but Dr. Baker's books, & Dr. Simon's books at least offer in-depth education to prevent alienated parents from falling into this trap again, as well as "some" hope that being reunited with your children is possible. With gratitude to Dr. Amy Baker, & Dr. George Simon as well, both of which almost literally saved my life...
