About this audiobook

From the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Raven Boys, a mesmerizing story of dreams and desires, death and destiny.

The dreamers walk among us...and so do the dreamed. Those who dream cannot stop dreaming — they can only try to control it. Those who are dreamed cannot have their own lives — they will sleep forever if their dreamers die.

And then there are those who are drawn to the dreamers. To use them. To trap them. To kill them before their dreams destroy us all.<./P>

Ronan Lynch is a dreamer. He can pull both curiosities and catastrophes out of his dreams and into his compromised reality.

Jordan Hennessy is a thief. The closer she comes to the dream object she is after, the more inextricably she becomes tied to it.

Carmen Farooq-Lane is a hunter. Her brother was a dreamer...and a killer. She has seen what dreaming can do to a person. And she has seen the damage that dreamers can dor. But that is nothing compared to the destruction that is about to be unleashed....

I saw all the reviews saying how much they loved the narrators voice. I tried. But just couldn't listen to him. He is monotone and just boring. Such a shame, as I was keen to be able to listen to these books. Guess I will be reading them instead!

What a book! Absolutely delightful, and wonderfully read. Imaginative, ethereal, hauntingly beautiful, and at the same time somehow real, warm and funny.

Can already see I'm going to be just as obsessed with this trilogy as I was with the raven boys. It's a bit more grown up. More violence and horror. Still compulsive and magical.

    “Mmmm”

Maggie Stiefvater’s writing has become food for my soul. Delicious, warm, rich, and soothing. Analogies are the seasoning that makes her feasts a star above the rest. Brilliant, vivid scenes that envelope you like a first bite full of a new flavor you wonder how you ever truly enjoyed a meal without. Her writing is madness; nothing should be so good.

This story really should be considered part of the Raven Boys Series, though it’s technically a spin-off into Ronan’s disturbing, yet endearing story. The fantasy in this books takes the reader to a whole new level, but throughout the series, the build has escalated beautifully, always giving us a little more to wrap our minds around just when we can handle it.

The cliff hanger had me on the edge of my seat…my Apple Watch told me to calm tf down! So good, once again!! This series is just…magnificent.

Really a 4.5 for me! A tad confusing at times, weird always, but in a good way. Maggie Stiefvater does strange and weird well!

I’m gonna write my full review of the book on goodreads.
But as for the audio portion, I loved it.
You could tell each character from one another and honestly, my only complaint was Ronan’s voice. (Sounded a tad bit old for the 19 year old,)

Honestly, I didn’t even mind too much tho. The book was wonderful and the audiobook was wonderful. A fantastic start to the trilogy.

Will Patton is BACK and his narration is just as stellar as it was in The Raven Cycle (which you need to listen to IMMEDIATELY, even if you've already read the books).

This sequel isn't The Raven Cycle though, and if you go in comparing the two series you're already doomed to fail. It's a complete departure from it's predecessors, but I ended up loving it with my whole heart anyway. Honestly, trying to describe this book has been next to impossible for me. It was way more mature than The Raven Cycle and hovered in a limbo space between young-adult and regular fiction, which I really loved. Ronan is older, his problems are older, I’m older… So it was really great seeing that reflected in the text. But as a reader, I was VERY aware that this was a book about dreamers. I mean, literally ANYTHING is possible in this universe and that created a low level of tension and anxiety that hummed deep beneath the surface of the plot. I had to read this in short bursts over a longer period of time just to give myself mental breaks because I was so tense, even when nothing was happening.

Should you read this book? Absolutely 100% YES. But this is a spin off. Remember to treat it like it's own series and don't go comparing it to The Raven Cycle.

I don't really know why this isn't a five stars read for me because I really enjoyed it but I guess something was sort of missing...

I love Will Patton's narration of these series and I love the way Maggie Stiefvater thinks and the way she puts it to paper. I love these characters and I hate that I am going to miss them for another long while. God, this was SO GOOD.

Ronan and Adam were my favorite Raven Boys and this is such an amazing continuation of Ronan’s journey and powers. And I’ve loved seeing more of his brothers (who knew Declan had such depths?). I didn’t think I had room in my heart beyond these boys but the new characters are WONDERFUL as well. Of course it’s creepy and disturbing as well—that’s just the universe that’s on offer.
The audiobook reader is incredible, particularly for Ronan’s section of the book.

It's an amazing story but the narrator's attempts at accents have been taking me out of the fiction ever since I started listening to these audiobooks. His German accent is so inaccurate I cannot take characters who speak with it seriously. The second he speaks another language (e.g. Latin) he changes his tone in such an unrealistic way I just cannot believe anyone would ever say something this way in a context.

4.5 books later (0.5 being Opal) and I still have a problem with Maggie’s writing... or, Will’s narration... anyhow, Ronan is the most interesting character I’ve found in a while. The dream thieves was my favorite book of the previous series and this book did not let me down. Even the beginning when he seemed a bit left behind (Simon Snow all over again) the book kept a good pacing. While I think that Ronan can carry a story by himself, I felt that he still needed his squad... I loved the trio dynamic they had with Gansey although that phone call with Blue was adorable. Lastly, how can you leave Ronan on seen like... like... why? The Raven Boys ended so nicely and fluffily... whyyyyyyy... Need Book 2 ASAP.
