About this audiobook

One of Oprah Magazine's 21 Romance Novels That Are Set to Be the Best of 2020

USA Today bestselling author Talia Hibbert returns with another charming romantic comedy about a young woman who agrees to fake date her friend after a video of him “rescuing” her from their office building goes viral...

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

When big, brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues Dani from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, it’s an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and former rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together. But before she can explain that fact to him, a video of the heroic rescue goes viral. Suddenly, half the internet is shipping #DrRugbae—and Zaf is begging Dani to play along. Turns out his sports charity for kids could really use the publicity. Lying to help children? Who on earth would refuse?

Dani’s plan is simple: fake a relationship in public, seduce Zaf behind the scenes. The trouble is, grumpy Zaf is secretly a hopeless romantic—and he’s determined to corrupt Dani’s stone-cold realism. Before long, he’s tackling her fears into the dirt. But the former sports star has issues of his own, and the walls around his heart are as thick as his... um, thighs.

The easy lay Dani dreamed of is now more complex than her thesis. Has her wish backfired? Is her focus being tested? Or is the universe just waiting for her to take a hint?

“Talia Hibbert is a rockstar! Her writing is smart, funny, and sexy..."" - Meg Cabot, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Little Bridge Island and Princess Diaries series

Talia Hibbert

Talia Hibbert is a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling Black British author who lives in a bedroom full of books. Where do I go from here? What do I read after this? I loved “Get A Life Chloe Brown,” and I have just as much love for “Take A Hint Dani Brown.” These Brown sisters make you laugh and smile. If you’re a hopeless romantic then this book is for you. Like Chloe Brown it gets steamy so if that bothers you then this book might not be for you but ughhh I’m in love. Can’t wait to read the book for the last Brown sister, Eve. Talia Hibbert is def one of those authors I’ll be sure to keep up with.

Kinda saddened that I didn't love it as much as the first one but that's OK. I was smiling throughout the whole book beacsue they were so sweet together and the hero was a cinnamon roll. Sadly, Danikas insecurity was very annoying and it got repetitive

A sweet book about fake-dating that turns into something more. The depiction of anxiety in the book was also almost spot on to some of the attacks I've experienced before and I appreciate the care with which the author wrote about this subject. The book strikes a balance between steamy and sweet moment between the two lovebirds, Dani and Zaf and I appreciated that balance.

I like the first book more but that doesn't mean that this one is not good. It's awesome! I love the chemistry and realness of each character! The humor was so intricately woven into the writing that it really seemed natural. I caught myself laughing out loud at times! This is a really adorably romantic spicy read! Now, onto Eve's book!

I loved Zaf he was a dynamic character with tons of depth and honestly he was the main character. Dani was meh. Her relationship “trauma” was poorly developed and she genuinely was seemed like just a bitch who caught feelings and didn’t like it.

Overall, the book was fine but it just was kinda flat in comparison to Chloe & Red’s story.

Adorable and hot. I am not a fan of the last third conflict, but at least it was swiftly resolved.

This was wonderful. I love the banter and just the absolute cuteness that was Dani and Zaf. This was beautifully written, and the representation of depression and anxiety disorders was done so well. I absolutely adore this series and the Brown sisters and cannot wait to go on a journey with the youngest sister, Eve.

Two perfect for each other leads are set up with reasons to provide a fairly amusing story rather than just fall into bed and deprive us of a fairly entertaining well paced romance with just a shade too much agonizing about what we know won't matter further down the line.

Found Dani to be just too jaded from the very beginning. 5 mins from the end of the book and all is good wasn’t something that made the book worth the read. The part about zapher and his anxiety/depression was done well as I suffer from that also and I think it’s good that we hear about it more often. Especially in a strong man who, by the way, was also into romance novels and didn’t try to hide it. Cheers for him!!!

It was a good, modern love story. I’m (pleasantly) surprised by how steamy the love scenes were. I’d definitely read another book by this author.

Such an endearing. I really found myself within the character of Dani when it comes to closing off love and feeling that it’s too risky and unpredictable (as well as having an ex by the same name?). Ive paused on examining that aspect of myself but seeing grow into staying within the present and shifting from the painful memories of the past was enlightening. Thank you for another awe-inspiring romance. Excuse me while i email my therapist

Excellent. Excellent. The best romantic comedy I’ve ever read. She writes so descriptive and poet almost but it’s still attainable. I loved the diversity of characters and the care that went into exploring their personality and culture along background. I love this book and will read all this authors book probably haha

I loved this book so much that I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it and started re-reading probably a day after I finished it. It did not take long to get through it because I was so invested in the characters and the story. This book is funny, it’s vivid, and thoroughly enjoyable and I highly recommend reading!

This book was so so adorable I couldn’t stop smiling! I loved Get a Life, Chloe Brown and this one was even better. I really liked Faz’s character. I do wish his niece had been a little more involved though because I think that would’ve been cuter since her meddling was a fun touch but limited.

4.5 stars to sum up. There I was thinking the series couldn’t get any better after Get a life, Chloe Brown. I just know I’m a hopeless romantic.

These Brown sisters are DRAMA!!! I can't wait to see what happens with Eve! As much as I LOVED Chloe's story, I think I bonded more with Dani's story. Seeing someone in a book who not only looks like me (sort of) but also struggles with the same insecurities I do is comforting. I also related to Zaf - weirdly enough. When I struggled with depression I started picking up books and became obsessed - however I like almost all genres of fiction, not just romance. This story was perfect and I loved it!

I really liked this book!! I liked Dani and her boy. I was initially very disappointed in Dani for rejecting her boy's I love you. But she soon realized she loved him back! So they got back together and in the epilogue, we got to see them 1 year on!

Fiona Hardingham did a really fantastic job performing this story! I thoroughly enjoyed her narration.

I read this book on June 20, 2022.

This book is so cute it gave me cavities. It's slightly on the explicit side so, if you're sensitive about that then I wouldn't recommend it for you.

I’ve never fallen so in love with a male romance character like I did with Zaf! Such a cute book just what I needed to get out of my head and into a good story.
