About this audiobook

Gabriel

I am the crown prince of Villroy, heir to a kingdom, bound by duty to marry and produce an heir.

I expected a quiet arrangement through royal channels, instead I got a palace full of women vying for my hand. This undignified circus is beneath a man of my stature! Proof being that a saucy, ill-mannered woman wearing body-hugging clothes is in the lead. I could never love someone like that, let alone marry her.

Anna

The plan sounded simple. I pose as my friend, pick up her inheritance, and return with the cash to keep her out of jail.

So, yeah, I'm not exactly royal. I'm an orphan, a self-made woman, and proud of it. Suddenly I'm in a battle royale with a bunch of crazy competitive women for riches beyond our dreams. I'm in a time crunch, which means I need to win this competition fast. Only, that means winning over the judge; the smoldering hot grim-faced Gabriel. And now I find myself wanting to compete for more than just the money. But could a royal prince ever fall for a commoner like me?

Contains mature themes.

absolutely LOVED this book. Gabriel was such an incredible character. My favorite Royal character to date. It was so enjoyable to watch his character come out of his shell. His sense of duty and loyalty to his family and kingdom felt so genuine.

“Truth? If I could live as a free man, she’s exactly the kind of beautiful free spirit I’d want. And the sad irony is I didn’t know I wanted that until I met her.
But I’m not a free man. I’m heir to a kingdom, and if I’m selfish and choose her and help her win this competition, she would be miserable. I’d be a complete jerk to allow it. Not only would all the duties and rules expected of the queen destroy her spirit, it would be an enormous heavy responsibility and a lot of hard work. My queen will have to help me save a kingdom. A princess can enjoy certain freedoms. She cannot be queen.”

This is an excellent example of his character. At first when you meet him he seems stuck up and rather pompous. It’s all a lie. Anna was a pretty good character as well. She has morals and even though she’s lying about who she is the intent behind it is so selfless. ***mild spoilers but I mean you know it’s a HEA*** I like Gabriel so much I was getting a little anxious towards the end of the book. Worried how he’d handle the truth about Polly|Anna’s deception. If he became a complete jerk and just through her aside it was going to break my heart! Instead I was extremely happy and fell even harder for this fictional character. The way he handles everything, how he continually goes after HER and not the other way around. His loyalty to his heart (swoon)

“He finishes dressing, grabs me by the shoulders, and looks into my eyes. “I love you.” He says it almost like a challenge.
    “I love you too, but—”
    “No. That is enough.”

Honestly I don’t know how the other books will hold up to this one because I just absolutely loved this one!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Poor Anna only wanted to help her cousin stay out of jail, she was a princess for god sake. Polly had looked her up and found out that she was a distant cousin but could never be a princess. All Anna had to do was to pretend that she was Polly, get the prize money, and help her pay for a good attorney, what could go wrong with that? Prince Gabriel was next in line to be king as his father was dying, but now his mother decided to have a competition with a dozen princess with the winner getting a treasure beyond their wildest dreams! I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE REST OF THE SERIES!!

Survivor meets the Bachelor but will some twists! Ms. Gilmore has crafted an entertaining story that her readers will enjoy. Anna unexpectedly finds herself impersonating a princess & participating in a royal survival story. Her personality is the complete opposite of what the public thinks a good princess should be. At heart, she is very deserving of any good fortune that falls upon her. Gabriel is to inherit the crown. His father is ill & needs to step down. Gabriel is every bit as stiff, aloof & arrogant as Anna is fun, brash & lovely. They are complete opposites but bring out the best in each other. Their chemistry is off the charts. Will he stand by Anna when her secret is revealed? Will he choose one of the more “proper” princesses? This was a fun & entertaining story full of wit, sarcasm, fun & passion. The reader can easily picture the scenes at the competition based on the descriptive language. This story is an excellent start to a new series.
