An intimate, fresh perspective on the most powerful woman in American political history, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, by award-winning political journalist Molly Ball.
She’s the iconic leader who puts Donald Trump in his place, the woman with the toughness to take on a lawless president and defend American democracy. Ever since the Democrats took back the House in the 2018 midterm elections, Nancy Pelosi has led the opposition with strategic mastery and inimitable elan. It’s a remarkable comeback for the veteran politician who for years was demonized by the right and taken for granted by many in her own party—even though, as speaker under President Barack Obama, she deserves much of the credit for epochal liberal accomplishments from universal health care to gays in the military. How did a 79-year-old Italian grandmother in four-inch heels become the greatest legislator since LBJ—and how will she manage her greatest challenge yet, impeachment?
Ball’s nuanced portrait takes listeners inside the life and times of this historic and underappreciated figure. Based on exclusive interviews with the Speaker and deep background reporting, Ball shows Pelosi through a thoroughly modern lens to explain how this extraordinary woman has met her moment.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An excellent biography, effectively charting Nancy’s rise to power, her accomplishments, her mistakes and her evolution. As someone inclined to think of her as too moderate for the democratic party’s future, it was fascinating to learn why she operates the way she does, and what she and many of her peers consider her legacy to be. I might even be a bit of a Nancy fan after this.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A great, in-depth look at one of the most powerful women in the world. Nancy D’Allessandro Pelosi is a force to be reckoned with, as is evident from the reviews here from men who haven’t read the book but feel threatened by her extraordinary talents in the political arena. Like Cleopatra and Catherine the Great, she is vilified. The author gives us a tantalizing glimpse at the real Speaker of the House. Highly recommend.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5There are some serious discrepancies in this book. I listened and tried so hard to be unbiased. Pelosi May have started out with good intentions but like all career politicians they end up being bought and sold like a common whore. Sad to see that women in politics will stoop so low.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Pelosi is another ultra-Zionist who was taught the political business by her father. There are several examples where she squashes any criticism of the old guard's Zionist kow-towing. Chuck Schumer and Nancy, have done everything possible to destroy the Sanders Presidential campaign. Along with Wasserman-Schultz
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5So sad that her attempt of impeachment on President Trump had failed. Now, she is doing the BLM propaganda, and this book is clearly out of date.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5What happened to an objective biography about a complex human being? This is nothing more than an advertisement.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Just read the description and it tells you everything you need to know about this book. It reads like Soviet-era propaganda. Zero effort at any kind of neutrality. A major injustice to actual biographers.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This is unfortunately another attempt to cram more untrue, one-sided drivel, in the name of political brainwashing, at America. This book needs balance, and it is missing...big time. Pelosi is an anti American, sold her soul, if she has one, elitist snake who should be remembered as the villain she is.
