Rooting for Katrina & Jas! This modern romance had a bit of everything. This book does touch on ptsd, social anxiety, dysfunctional relationships with parents, among other mental health topics. It was nice to have some of the previous characters from The Right Swipe be a part of this story. This romcom focused on Katrina & her dating journey where she falls for Jas her body guard. Alisha Rai wrote this romcom very well and looking forward to more!

Definitely an insanely sweet, mushy romance that may be too much for people but it was alright for me

Potential Spoilers! I loved the characters and their story lines, Jas’ family made my heart swell! Katrina finding herself on her own was also so refreshing and the climax moment wasn’t so earth shattering for once!

I wish this had a prologue to explain Katrina and her past. The story was a little confusing and I never connected with why she needed so much security. I would have liked to have known much more around this as it would have made the story flow a little better. I know we get pieces throughout, but it just did not all work for me. The story was very slow moving. I found myself drifting a little during the audiobook as not much was happening. The romance was very immature as well with just lusting and gradual bumping into one another. I did like the idea of the romance including Jas’ being a bodyguard. Sadly, this one just fell flat for me.

This was a lovely, charming book. Katrina and Jas are both cinnamon rolls who absolutely belong together.

This was such a cute romance. I like this author and her romances are usually more intense than this. But I enjoyed the lighter romance with such likable characters. I am such a sucker for the unrequited love plotline too. I also liked the family drama that Jas, the male character, had to deal with. It was a nice bonus that I also learned about Punjabi American history because the author had based some of the settings in a real place. I haven't read the first book in the series because its synopsis didn't appeal to me but maybe I'll check it out.

I listened to this on audio which I initially found hilarious. The characters are people of color and the voice used for the security guard/love interest sounded like an overly macho white man. The characters alternate chapters and it was just such a contrast to the woman's voice that it made me laugh the first few times it happened. But I didn't let it detract from the story. The event that kicks off the action for the characters to change is directly taken from a social media headline. I kept listening because I wanted to find out how they worked things out.
