Characters are oddly flat and the plot doesn’t convey suspense or drama. Constantly says, “she lifted her chin” before a character speaks. After a few repetitions one could gather this was a habit. Very little or no internal dialogue. Reads almost like a play. Left me feeling, “so what?”
