About this audiobook

From the #1 internationally bestselling author of Strange Sally Diamond and Lying in Wait, a biting and masterful “dark jewel of a novel” (A.J. Finn, #1New York Times bestselling author) that explores the many ways families can wreak emotional havoc across generations—for fans of HBO’s acclaimed series Succession.

All three of the Drumm brothers were at the funeral.

But one of them was in the coffin.

William, Brian, and Luke: three boys, born a year apart, trained from birth by their wily mother to compete for her attention. They play games, as brothers do…yet even after the Drumms escape into the world beyond their windows, those games—those little cruelties—grow more sinister, more merciless, and more dangerous. And with their lives entwined like the strands of a noose, only two of the brothers will survive.

Hailed by New York Times bestselling author Shari Lapena as “brilliant, engrossing,” and perfect for fans of breathtaking suspense, Little Cruelties gazes unflinchingly into the darkness collecting in the corners of childhood homes, hiding beneath marriage beds, clasped in the palms of two brothers shaking hands. And it confirms that Liz Nugent is truly “a force to be reckoned with” (Lisa Jewell, New York Times bestselling author) in contemporary fiction.

Holy shit!!! I thought my family was fucked up. The Drum clan makes my family look like the Waltons.

This was a family drama. I loved the different perspectives of the brothers, but none of the characters were likeable, and it was not suspenseful at all.

Yes! Second book by Liz that I listened too and I'm a fan. Love the stories, the multiple characters. This one in particular is very nice as it's told by the three brothers point of views and we learned their reasons and cruelties as the story unfolds. Highly recommend it!

This book was well written, and covered some good themes. However, it was super heavy and depressing throughout the entire novel, so it wasn't a particularly enjoyable read. It was really hard to relate to any of the characters, because it pretty much only focused on the negative aspects of who they are.

Fantastic book! Very well written, and I really enjoyed the way the story of each character was told from their point of view in the same story.

Great book! Realistic although extreme of what families do to each other and how the grudges we hold are our downfall. Don’t miss this one!

Loved this book. Written and narrated very well. The different perspectives made it extremely interesting. It was like a train wreck you couldn’t stop listening to- in the best kinda way! I’ll be checking out other books from this author.

Amazing! After searching for a a great "listen", I happened upon this book....and I so glad I did. Everything came together perfectly...the story was awesome & the narrators...oh my God, the narrators were fantastic. I usually don't listen to audiobooks narrated by men...unless it's George Newbern, because I absolutely love George Newbern's voice...anyway, I reccomend this to any & all. It's full of self-hate, guilt, jealousy, terrible parenting, antipsychotic meds, greed, pride and all the other 7 deadly sins.

THIS is a thriller. Yes, it is dark but boy is it realistic considering what we see and read in the news and on SM these days. People are shady! I will be looking for this author again!

Good writing, the brothers cruel, self centered, not a feel good book. Unfortunately, many times the story held truths of real people’s lives. Author has insight of how life damages.
