About this audiobook

Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only. The truth is, since she was a little girl, flowers have shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hopes to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist.

Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible.

After a chance encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead and the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever.

The bet does more than expose Persephone's failure as a goddess, however. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows-and it's forbidden.

Contains mature themes.

It was disappointing, there was so little i liked, the majority of thenmain characters was ridiculous, to insta lovey... the only interesting part was almost at the end whe Persephone showed her dark side and took control of her life.

I didn't even get to the "spice" everyone mentioned. I have 8 hours left in the book ill probably never get to. The writing was the kind of quality I expect from fanfictions not popular novels. And the narrator was garbage. She tones everything breathy and sensual making exchanges between even persephone and her MOTHER Demeter sound like they're riddled with secual tension. All in all it was super cringe.

Characters are very annoying. Nothing about Persephone’s life makes sense.

The best balance between romance and actual plot, plus this narrator is the real goddess here

I was very excited to read another spin on the Hades-Persephone story, but this felt more like a high school romance. Or college romance, i guess - considering the adult scenes.
It felt unnecessary to involve the mortal realm in the story, and essentially make Persephone a supernatural teenager with a celebrity crush.
I might have enjoyed the strange mix in my teenage years, but today it mostly made me cringe...

It was a decent book. Really not a lot to complain about. Little romance little smutty, but it wasn’t so memorable that I had to see if there was another book next.

I've been sitting on this book for a while and I was warned that there was minimal plot and lots of smut.

    Right up my alley.

I was surprised that I really enjoyed the world-building and I would have loved to have seen more of this with more detail about all the Gods and their involvement in the plot. However, this was limited because there wasn't much plot.

There was lots of potential for smut and spice but I do think the scenes were very tame and quick. I wanted more detail and depth. They seemed to be over very quickly and Hades was used as the dirty-talking alpha but that seemed to be his only personality trait. Maybe I expected too much?

Persephone started out great and I loved her purpose from the start to get a story on Hades but then she started to grate on my nerves. She became very whiny and brat-like in her reactions to anything to do with Hades or any male species.

Will I carry on with the series? Probably not but I will try to read it from Hades POV to see if I'm swayed more.

Ok so the story alone was amazing both as a retelling and as a romance! Perfect amount of steamy scenes and the outcome was not eye-rollingly predictable. (Yes I know that’s not a word?) The Cherry on Top was Meg Sylvan’s amazing performance! Literally forgot it was one person reading and that is just an absolute PLUS!!

Not sure if just me but it stops playing and there are gaps in the story that are just silent.

Other than that, it’s good for what it is. A romance rewrite of an old myth, YA style. Loving it.

Solid 3. It wasn’t bad, but not all that great, esp as someone who loves Greek mythology. Definitely won’t be continuing the series. One thing I liked was how she made all the Gods business men in some way & that they walked relatively freely amongst humans.

I enjoyed this book so much. The retelling of Hades & Persephone was interesting and I can't wait to continue with the series.

Entertaining but characters lack depth. I often became frustrated with Persephone’s uncanny ability to self-sabotage and doubt the obvious. I’m fine with not continuing this series.

4 estrelas pela narração, pela história eu daria 3. Apesar de ser boa, poderia ter elaborado bem mais já que os deuses estão na história.

Entertaining, I enjoyed listening to it characters are lacking of depth and the story is a little simple. However I will still be listening to book 2. It's definitely not bad at all it's just not my favorite book.

First book in this series, and it really intrigued me. I really liked the retelling of Hades and Persephone's story. It was fun, sexy and full of heart. All Persephone had to do was listen to what Hades said, but she allowed her upbringing to rule over her until she was forced to face herself. Fab! Loved it...on to the next instalment, wonder what's going to happen next ?

Okay here me out. I have a love and hate relationship with this book but in a good way. I just dislike Persephone's personality. She thinks that her opinions matter when it comes to Lord Hades. So I have to remind myself that she is a naive college kid thinking she knows it all from what she heard without experiencing it.?

Is just wow! I have always like Greek mythology! And I was looking for something romantic with a bit of spice and to be honest monogamy. I just love the concept of ,, him and her against the world “. Was definitely not a mistake! I am starting now the second book.
I have the books also because I love to have the books and smell them. But audio is sometimes better. When I have to drive or do other things I can actually listen to my book! 5 Stars from me with high recommendation! ?
