About this audiobook

A guide to plant spirit ritual and witchcraft, with practical instruction on the use of botanicals especially associated with the beloved goddess Hekate and her daughters Circe and Medea.

Bringing pharmakeia (the practice of plant spirit witchcraft) into contemporary times, Entering Hekate's Garden merges historical knowledge with modern techniques. In it, author Cyndi Brannen offers her extensive insight into Hekatean ritual and witchcraft and especially its application to the Green World. The book features detailed monographs dedicated to 39 plants ranging from the esoteric such as aconite, American mandrake, and damiana to the accessible including bay laurel, dandelion, fennel, garlic, juniper, and lavender.

This book blends traditional methods with the author's personal approach, emphasizing her understanding of plant spirits as allies in the witch's journey. It includes a new taxonomy for interpreting plant energies, methods for creating new correspondences, the importance of layering, using botanicals in spells, rituals, altars, and more, as well as ways to develop meaningful relationships with the pharmakoi (master plant spirits). Poetry, petitions, and musings about pharmakeia are woven throughout. Entering Hekate's Garden takes listeners deep into the mystical world of botanical witchery in a way no other book has before.

Oh my god - I'm so grateful for the audiobook because, frankly, this book is really hard to read. It isn't written like a guide, it's written more like a spiritual experience. Nothing wrong with that, but it does make it more difficult for referencing in my opinion, and it's in desperate need of an index. My physical version doesn't have one. Apart from that, it's very informative, and has A LOT of spells and rituals (again though, index would help a lot with finding them!) Which I'm looking forward to trying in future. Four stars only because its very specific spiritual-experience styling makes it difficult to actually find information when you want to use it, apart from that, definitely recommend this book.

Yes, Cindy Brannen is very knowledgeable, BUT (capital but) you may read her books for the facts about the plants and the magick, you may read it as well as a New Lore, for witchcraft and maybe even Hekate (even if my personnal gnosis differs from Banner's), but you have to be aware that it will make you closer to Cindy Brannen than to Hekate.

Be aware of that, have your own full pocket of salt of common sense, dont believe that Branner has been blessed with the Truth, and yeah, read her books, they are beautifully written and you may learn a lot, about Hekate but also about you (and Brannen of.course).
In spiritual and religious matter (you may alreday have found out that for me Brannen 's purpose is far from just educating people) you choose your way and your mentors. You choose your truth. Or maybe the truth choose you.
Whatever, know that to get in touch with Hekate you may have to check Sorita d'Este and even Jason Miller, Hekate is not only the way Brannen feels her.
    Blessed Be.
