About this audiobook
After thwarting a notorious villain at an eco-summit in Paris, the City Spies are gearing up for their next mission. Operating out of a base in Scotland, this secret team of young agents working for the British Secret Intelligence Service’s MI6 division have honed their unique skills, such as sleight of hand, breaking and entering, observation, and explosives. All of these allow them to go places in the world of espionage where adults can’t.
Fourteen-year-old Sydney is a surfer and a rebel from Bondi Beach, Australia. She’s also a field ops specialist for the City Spies. Sydney is excited to learn that she’ll be going undercover on the marine research vessel the Sylvia Earle. But things don’t go exactly as planned, and while Sydney does find herself in the spotlight, it’s not in the way she was hoping.
Meanwhile, there’s been some new intel regarding a potential mole within the organization, offering the spies a lead that takes them to San Francisco, California. But as they investigate a spy who died at the Botanical Gardens, they discover that they are also being investigated. And soon, they’re caught up in an exciting adventure filled with rogue missions and double agents!
This mission is hot! The City Spies are a go!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was amazing. All of the action, hype, and relatable events makes it feel so real that I'm constantly daydreaming about being a spy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Possibly even better than the first book! Lots of twist and turns, and the City Spy kids get to shine with their spy skills in finding a would-be kidnapper, Mother's missing kids, and closing in on a double agent. The narrator did an amazing job with all the different voices and accents!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I LOVED this book so amazing and good quality writing! would definitely recommend!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Ponti creates an adventurous plot with creative characters. I found it a bit jarring at first that his point of view puts the reader inside everyone’s head at various times, rather than writing the story through only one or two viewpoint characters. Once I got past this, I was able to immerse myself in the adventure and enjoy the ride.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is one of best books that I have ever read(this series). I would really suggest reading it if you like spy books/ suspense/thriller books.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5James Ponti can write books that keep kids engaged and longing for the next book! I am a Highschooler and greatly enjoy these books! They are written well, and the action is well described. I love the adoption and lack of wokeness!
