About this audiobook
A balanced account of game changes, conflicts and ambitions. The fall from popular grace of the previously adulated brother of the heir to the British throne as a consequence of his marriage to a beautiful and dynamic Hollywood starlet of colour makes for fascinating reading in best-selling royal author Lady Colin Campbell's balanced account. Lady Colin knows her royal history and psychology, and as the first seven years of her adult life were spent in the USA she has a foot in both the American and British camps. With unique breadth of insight she goes behind the scenes, speaking to friends, relations, courtiers, and colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic to reveal the most unexpected royal story since the Abdication. She highlights the dilemmas involved and the issues that lurk beneath the surface, as to why the couple decided to step down as senior royals. She analyses the implications of the actions of a young and ambitious couple, in love with each other and with the empowering lure of fame and fortune. She leads the reader through the maze of contradictions, revealing how Californian culture has influenced the couple's conduct. She exposes how they tried and failed to change the royal system by adapting it to their own needs and ambitions, and, upon failing, how they decided to create a new system altogether.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great details and love the information. But wish it was a little more condensed as the content was really long :) but I liked the facts being backed up with the events which happened.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Narrator had a very smug voice and called Archie, Arki all through the first chapters.
Lady Colin Campbell is disgusting in her conjecture of what she thinks is the life of Harry and Meghan. How does she know this is the real story and how does she know what they have had to deal with. She obviously is a royalist because she makes money out of the fictional stories she writes about the lives of royals. She filled her tale up with constant reference to the money Harry and Meghan are making it became boring how much she went on about that. They have a right to make a living and it's certainly a brave decision they made to get out of the clutches of the royal life. Cruel and nasty account of what she thinks their story is. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a great insight into the truth about Meghan and Harry. But, by the end of the book, it's evident that she believes American's to be trashy, unrefined idiots that fall for anything. I get it, were not British. Otherwise I'll t woulda gotten 5 stars.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent book. A must read!!! A very in depth and unbiased version.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I fell asleep midway through this audio, and want to go back and finish it now, but it won't allow me in. It won't replay. This has happened with several audios this past week. What is going on? The audio was very entertaining, and I would have given it an excellent rating, but am now very very disappointed. Scribd has let me down in a big way.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Lady C writes smoothly. Narrator is good. Knowing what Americans think about them is a joke. I skipped forward. Going on & on about Trump when it’s obvious that Lady C isn’t knowledgeable on this subject was annoying as well. Trump didn’t take a paycheck nor did he “get himself elected” to boost his commercialism. He was hounded, constantly taken to court which is still happening and he wins every time. Keep to the subject matter please. It was interesting till then.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5As an American it was very difficult to understand this lack of freedom to be who you desire to be. I’m glad they broke free of these bonds. I am sad for Harry that he he has it lost his royal family the ones he has loved all his life. It
seemed like a lot of smut was thrown at Meghan & aHarru! BOO! - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Don’t expect a well researched book; it’s nothing but a repackaged rumors . I mourn the time I wasted listening to this ?
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Obviously written by a H & M hater. Hard pass!
