About this audiobook
August 2558. Rion Forge was once defined by her relentless quest for hope amidst the refuse and wreckage of a post-Covenant War galaxy—years spent searching for family as much as fortune. But that was before Rion and the crew of her salvager ship Ace of Spades encountered a powerful yet tragic being who forever altered their lives. This remnant from eons past, when the Forerunners once thrived, brought with it a revelation of ancient machinations and a shocking, brutal history. Unfortunately, the Ace crew also made dire enemies of the Office of Naval Intelligence in the process, with the constant threat of capture and incarceration a very real possibility. Now with tensions mounting and ONI forces closing in, Rion and her companions commit to this being’s very personal mission, unlocking untold secrets and even deadlier threats that have been hidden away for centuries from an unsuspecting universe....

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really Good !! Can't wait for infinite story because of this !!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love to see the story of Rion Forge continue. One of the great aspects of the Halo series is its endless side stories that still can relate, follow and even add to the overall Halo universe such as this title and it’s previous books with Rion while being its own complete story line. Adding additional detail to the Forerunner Saga history with the Lifeshaper and 343 as well. A series such as Captain Rion’s could make for a movie one day (fingers crossed!). I think true Halo fans who have read several other books, including the Forerunner Saga, will have a better appreciation for this books content as compared to the previous books in the series.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I felt like I only listened to this book and would recommend it to a die hard halo fan. Not a necessary read at all, in my opinion, it's not bad, it does follow up on previous books, but it just feels very choppy. How characters get from A to B isn't always made clear, in my opinion.
I feel like they're going to incorporate some things into infinite from this book, but..... Blegh. Much of the content of this book feels fumbled, sort of just.... Accidentally put out.
I just haven't really enjoyed Kelly Gay's additions to the halo universe. Overall I prefer when Eric Nylund Or Matt Forbeck are writing, they've made the majority that I really, really, really enjoyed.
