    Andrew Mayne started his first illusion tour while he was a teenager and was soon headlining in resorts and casinos around the world. He’s worked behind the scenes creatively for David Copperfield, Penn & Teller, and David Blaine. With the support of talk show host and amateur magician Johnny Carson, Andrew started a program to use magic to teach critical thinking skills in public schools for the James Randi Educational Foundation. Andrew’s “Wizard School” segments, teaching magic and science to children, aired nationwide on public television. He also starred in the reality show Don’t Trust Andrew Mayne.

      Very different from the others but I still enjoyed it greatly.

      Dr. Theo Cray uses his computational abilities to track another serial killer. But this time things get dark. Like the other novels in this series, this is excellent and I’m looking forward to the next one. Our hero is such a well-developed character and the action is very good.

      Dark Pattern by Andrew Mayne is the fourth entry in The Naturalist series. Because this is my first book in the series, I felt that I was missing important and relevant information. Dr. Theo Cray finds serial killers by analyzing mathematical patterns, hence the title. Someone from his past asks him to investigate the suspicious deaths of several hospitalized patients. This leads Theo to discover that a nurse may be responsible for hundreds of murders over a period of many decades. He establishes mathematical profiles which identify a possible subject. Theo travels to numerous hospitals and uses somewhat illegal methods to document his convictions. This mystery will appeal to Theo Cray followers. I found it to be difficult to follow but I am only expressing my own opinion. Thank you to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
