Premise was good although not that original but details in a story bother me. It tells me the author isn’t really in touch with how real ppl live.
Glass cleaner doesn’t come in a “ can”
An MBA can’t get a job? Pls. I’ve never heard of one that can’t get a job as at least an analyst. It’s a pretty advanced degree. So working as a waitress, she moves to New York ,the most expensive place in America ! Lol. How is she paying rent? She is paying out of pocket for her debts, plus her mother’s cancer treatments? Cancer treatments are tens of thousands of dollars. We get no insight into how she is surviving in Manhattan on tips and paying these bills. It’s silly. Another eye roll. These are so unrealistic it ruined the story for me.

Hmm.. it’s ok. It was captivating but I felt the end was a little silly.

I don’t mean to insult the writer or her work. I read her novels but at the end of this book felt a little lackluster

More of a psychological mind game vs thriller, but so enjoyable.

Good story. Didn’t see the end coming! Loved the concept but wish there was more suspense/twists. Well written and I loved the narration. I listen before bed and often fell asleep to her voice, then I’d have to re-listen the next night.

Great story, with life lessons somewhat. Kinda could tell where the story was going here and there. Overall a good listen with a lesson.

    I just loved it!
So different, so unusual, so refreshing!
It's just shows that we don't know anything! And made me question, do I want to change my career??

Well Done!! This was really great, way better than I could have expected. Suspenseful, twisty and turny, with such a surprise at the end that you will NEVER see coming! I highly recommend it…☺️

This book was well done. I did think that the main character, autumn, what is the little bit overreacted to certain things. But it’s stupid the book, and perhaps it suited her. And the twist at the end made me happy.

I absolutely loved this book. It reminded me of the hunger games in a way. How far are we willing to go for money? For financial freedom? I couldn’t put this book down and I was not able to guess the ending at all. K-Mod does it again!

This was totally different than they other Kiersten Modglin books I've read or listened to, yet it was still so good. It was still a page turner and there were plenty of twists, so I don't think anyone will be disappointed. However, I wouldn't necessarily say it was a psychological thriller because it was more like a mystery. That doesn't take anything away from the book being fantastic. I would highly recommend it to mystery lovers, but diehard psychological thriller lovers might find it to be lacking quite a bit.

Ending/“twist” was terrible. Didn’t live up to the rest of the book, which I was enjoying. It all just fizzled and became incredibly silly and cheesy. Quickly. Things made zero sense if you spent even a second thinking about it—but it was not worth even thinking about at that point. Main character was terrible, but I kept hoping she would be redeemed or the twist would make her excruciating “interview skills” worth suffering through. Ugh. What a waste.

Kiersten is a fantastic story teller who draws you into her stories...then fails to deliver with the endings. This is the 4th book I have read and again I'm left frustrated by the absurd conclusion to the story. **Spoiler alert** the 'Dream Job' turns out to be working at a Woman's Refuge for victims of Domestic Abuse. What makes this insane is they actually expose the candidate's to psychological, emotional, coercive, and financial abuse in the recruitment process! It just would not happen. Not only that but once recruited they cut the salary by 40%... at this point most applicants would tell them to stick the offer where the sun doesn't shine. Working for a DVA charity myself made this even more ludicrous with the main character stitching up a woman like she is a trained nurse! I so wish this ended differently as the premise & story telling had me engrossed but sadly just left me rolling my eyes.

I liked the suspense of the job interview/vacation. The ending was not what I expected. It kept me interested enough to finish the book, but I think some of the story line in the middle was a bit drawn out for the ending to be what it was.
