    Sumi Hahn

    Sumi Hahn was born in Korea and immigrated to the United States when she was a year old. A former English teacher, she got her bachelor's in English literature from Harvard University and her master's from UC Berkeley. She was a columnist for The Times Picayune in New Orleans and has written about food and music for various publications in Seattle. She and her family now divide their time between New Zealand and Korea. The Mermaid from Jeju is her debut novel.

      Usually love this kind of book, but it was way too disjointed with incomplete storyline. Very disappointed.

      Such a nice story to learn about the island at the strong women

      A lovely story, with insight into the daily life of this time period in Korean history, and into the lives of the famous strong female divers. So many details of the inner lives of all the main characters as well. Highly recommended!

      I enjoyed the first part of this book but got a bit lost towards the end. I was not a fan of the narrators in this book.
