Filled with action, emotion, and lyrical writing, New York Times bestselling author Adrienne Young returns with Namesake, the final audiobook in the captivating Fable duology.

Trader. Fighter. Survivor.

With the Marigold ship free of her father, Fable and its crew were set to start over. That freedom is short-lived when she becomes a pawn in a notorious thug’s scheme. In order to get to her intended destination she must help him to secure a partnership with Holland, a powerful gem trader who is more than she seems.

As Fable descends deeper into a world of betrayal and deception, she learns that the secrets her mother took to her grave are now putting the people Fable cares about in danger. If Fable is going to save them then she must risk everything, including the boy she loves and the home she has finally found.

Awwww but I liked it! So much! Must it end?

In my opinion, this was a great end for this duology. I admit to getting a little nervous when it seemed as if all the problems were nearly solved 25% of the way through the book. I knew a big twist was coming. And then boom! However, it was good and hard to put down.

I read this book as soon as I finished Fable. I wasn't disappointed! It felt a little slower than Fable and there was less action but I felt it touched on deepe topics, especially the father-daughter relationship. That was beautifully heartbreaking at times.

I loved feeling completely immersed in the small universe the author created and I wish it was a real place. I still think these books feel like a historic/adventure novel, which is the perfect combination for me. Plus, there is tons of female power.

It made me sad to know there won't be more but I did feel it was a satisfying ending.

I can't wait to read more by this author!

In this book, Fable is taken to the Unnamed Sea to meet with Holland, the lady who basically has a monopoly on trade there. Holland wants to use Fable to expand her trade into the Narrows, effectively ruining their economy/trade and giving her a monopoly. This book details how Fable navigates that, and has themes such as issues with trust, betrayal, loyalty even when you probably shouldn't be loyal, etc. Good conclusion to Fable's story.

It was interesting seeing more of Fable's mother and the secrets she kept, as well as seeing how Fable handled difficult relationships, such as the one with her father, Holland, and West.

It is rare that i give a higher star rating for a sequel book cause they usually fall short of expectation but this book is one of the rare occasions, having fallen more in love with the characters, old & new, as they discover more about themselves and the people around them.
one point thought is that i am still dissatisfied with the amount of action, everything gets solved out fast with barely any fighting, all the pieces falls in seamlessly that at points i would be craving more, still i will not change my mind about the rating as the story really deserved it.
Hopefully there is more to the story and the adventure will continue but for now, i look forward to more of the author's writings.

This duology is so good. Namesake is a fantastic follow up to Fable. Action packed, swoony romance, high stakes on the high seas. Highly recommend
