Adibeh left Syria and arrived in Australia in 1977 in search of a better life. Despite the discriminatory barriers she faced to secure a job matching her qualifications, Adibeh was determined to build a good life in Australia and commenced an Accounting and Computer degree at La Trobe University. During which time she was the first to establish a multicultural student club which held cultural events for people from all ethnicities. This was part of the early movement in taking society a step closer towards a multicultural Australia.view less
