About this ebook

Take a splash of betrayal, add a few drops of outrage, give a good shake to proper behavior and take a big sip of a cocktail called…Ladies' Night! Grace Stanton’s life as a rising media star and beloved lifestyle blogger takes a surprising turn when she catches her husband cheating and torpedoes his pricey sports car straight into the family swimming pool.  Grace suddenly finds herself locked out of her palatial home, checking account, and even the blog she has worked so hard to develop in her signature style.  Moving in with her widowed mother, who owns and lives above a rundown beach bar called The Sandbox, is less than ideal.  So is attending court-mandated weekly "divorce recovery" therapy sessions with three other women and one man for whom betrayal seems to be the only commonality.  When their “divorce coach” starts to act suspiciously, they decide to start having their own Wednesday "Ladies' Night" sessions at The Sandbox, and the unanticipated bonds that develop lead the members of the group to try and find closure in ways they never imagined.  Can Grace figure out a new way home and discover how strong she needs to be to get there?  Heartache, humor, and a little bit of mystery come together in a story about life’s unpredictable twists and turns.  Mary Kay Andrews' Ladies' Night will have you raising a glass and cheering these characters on.

I've read a lot of books that Mary Kay has written and this one is just as enjoyable as the others. She is entertaining, you really get to know the characters, you get sucked into the story so you feel like you are right there and she makes you care for the characters. This is a great summer read. It really shows you what not to do when you find your spouse cheating.

rabck from book_drunkard; When Grace catches her husband and assistant a little too cozy in his sports car, she rants. She raves. And then she topedoes the pricey little number, right into the swimming pool and moves back home with her mother in a little apartment above the bar. Enter the divorce judge, who won't grant her a divorce until she completes anger management therapy, along with 4 other gals and one guy. When the therapy leader is acting strangely, the group decamps after the sessions back to her mother's bar, the Sandbox, and try to figure out how to get their divorces, start new lives....and what exactly is going on with the judge and the therapist?

I thought this was a good story of how different people in the same life situation can help each other. Plus, I liked the way she wove the romance into the story line.

An entertaining romp with a divorce who starts over, literally, loses everything, and starts over from scratch financially, rebuilds a house from nothing, and meets a wonderful guy in the process.

I have enjoyed other books by Andrews and enjoyed this one as well. However, I found it a little long, and a bit of a prolonged "roller coaster ride" for the protagonist Grace. Just when something started to go well for her, oops, here comes a curve ball (I'm mixing metaphors...), and that got a little tiresome. I also wish there had been a little bit more about Grace's background in the beginning of the novel - I really didn't buy that she was tired of her fancy life and all she really wanted was a little house to call her own, and it didn't seem realistic that she had no friends of her own. I also didn't buy how fast the relationship moved between Wyatt and Grace, but I guess you have to suspend belief for a little bit and just escape with the story sometimes! The mystery of the therapist seemed a little odd sometimes as well.I did love Andrews' descriptive voice and it was great fun learning what it's like (or maybe like) for a lifestyle blogger. It made the story very timely. I also like Andrews' humor. As a writer of a blog and as a woman just around Grace's age, the story hit close to home on some counts...hopefully not too close on others! :)I would recommend this book to women ages 30+ looking for a fun summer read. I would describe this book as the story of a lifestyle blogger who loses everything and how she works hard to get her life back on track - part romantic comedy, part mystery, and part life lesson - what does having it all really mean?

I had this sit on my TBR shelf for a little while, I always walked by and savored the fact I had a MKA on the shelf to read. When SAVE THE DATE came out I decided I didn't want to get too far behind. This was a fun quick read , loved the concept of a divorce recovery group with only one man! The book had nice bones, thru in some house recovery too, and an old Jungle Jerry's Birdland, I remember visiting these types of roadside exhibits in Florida when I was young. Good read.

I was hoping for more a beachy read when I picked this up. Grace Stanton definitely seems like she has it all--a lifestyle blogger with multiple big name advertisers, a home in a gated community and a husband that doubles as her business manager. Of course, this all comes crashing down with great theatrics and Grace finds herself moving in with her mom with only a handful of belongings. For such a savvy designer, Grace let her husband deal with too much and his quickness at changing locks, passwords, etc takes her livelihood away in the blink of an eye. The judge sentences her to divorce therapy to help with her anger, and it's there that the story takes off into multiple lines. From the revenge fantasies to the lone male in the group, these ladies bond, but at what kind of cost? I didn't completely believe in some of the direction the story went, and was downright horrified at Ashleigh's eventual bottom of the barrel scene.

Another great light read from Andrews. I always enjoy the humor and her characters. They make me smile; add the beach to that and it's the perfect match.

Ladies Night by Mary Kay AndrewsHave loved the authors other books and am looking forward to this one.Grace Standton is a photographer and blogger and a house decorator that others look up to. She finds her assistant in the car with her husband...Judges order counseling and they have to prove they are on board or their reports don't get signed weekly. She now lives with her mother and her husband and her ex assistant are now running her blog making her money. She has no way to even get her clothes, never mind get into her house...Story also follows Wyatt who's also there for group therapy....along with a few other females. They find out things about the therapist and the judge that just don't make sense...Just a handful of main characters that at times I had fun laughing at what was going on and at other times really getting into the book really emotional. Love how they learned of what was really going on with the judge...I received this book via Amazon from one selling the book.

Light summer read, fairly predictable. A friend gave me this and I got all excited, because I always confuse this author with another one I've met and like. But this one is a friend of my friend, so, either way, there's a connection.

LADIES NIGHT by Mary Kay Andrews is an interesting contemporary romance. While, a rather large book, about 464 pages, the author does a great job,of moving the story quickly and keeping the reader intrigued. A tale of divorce, betrayal, and Ladies Night told with humor, maybe a bit of revenge and sweet justice is just what the ladies need. A large portion of this story takes place in a rundown, beach bar called The Sandbox, which Grace's mother owns. A place for healing, humor, forgiveness, finding closure and maybe love again. So you have to lift your glass to the ladies of LADIES NIGHT as they move to another chapter of their battered lives with a few twists and turns along the way. A great summer read! Written with depth, characters who are engaging as well as heart warming, and a plot that walks a line between happiness and past regrets. Received for an honest review from the publicist and the publisher.RATING: 4HEAT RATING: SWEETREVIEWED BY: AprilR, Review courtesy of My Book Addiction and More

Andrews can create the meanest, most selfish characters I have read in a long time. The ex-husbands and ex-wives in this book are horrible people! But this just makes you enjoy the main characters that much more. Really good beach read!

Nobody does "revenge" fiction better than Mary Kay Andrews. The start of this book reminded me of Hissy Fit one of my favorite books by Ms. Andrews. The main character Grace finds her husband with her assistant in the garage. So she dumps the car in the pool and because of that has to go a divorce recovery group. There she meets others who have been ordered to attend the group by the same judge who sentenced her. Grace connects with the one man in the group, Wyatt who's wife has left him for a neighbor and is trying to get custody of their son. Grace starts to rebuild her life and further her relationship with Wyatt while dealing with her mother, the group members and of course the judge. Ms. Andrews did her usual great job writing a funny insightful story.

Definitely not one of her best books, but not nearly as poor as I was led to believe. Admittedly, it's set in my home town, which never fails to delight me as my home town only read made it on to the map in the last 15 years or so. But I enjoyed following the main character's vision and her hard work on restoring the Cracker house, and I thoroughly enjoyed the romantic interest's background of owning Jungle Jerry's, a fictional but entirely accurate take on Sarasota Jungle Gardens, right down to the parrot that rides a bike. Nostalgia definitely bumped the rating on this book at least a star; the villains were too villainous to be real - although in Florida non of them were impossible - and the plots were superficial at best. I always hold up her non detective fiction against her an early work of hers, Hissy Fit, and this falls far short of that incredibly readable story, but it's not, as I said, her worst. Living as far from home as one can get and still be on the planet, I thoroughly enjoyed the virtual trip home, so, 4 stars.

A diversion from my usual reads, this romantic fiction was set in Bradenton, Anna Maria, and Holmes Beach, places I’ve been. Enjoyable with happy ending.

A group of very different people is told they have to partake in a court-mandated weekly "divorce recovery" therapy. The group evolves into a strong group of friends who meet after their therapy and help each other succeed in getting their divorces finalized. There is friendship, there is humor and there is a journey. A great book!

As usual Mary Kay is a riot – Have read all her books – and love the mixture of antiquing, blogging, photography, staging, interior design, restoration, love, humor, girlfriends, revenge, girl time, and romance! Another good one- overcoming tough times no matter what! (especially loved the Sarasota/Siesta Key, Florida tie in since I live in South Florida on east coast and love vacationing southwest Florida!

LADIES NIGHT by Mary Kay AndrewsOne of my favorite “light read” authors has written a fun take on divorce and retribution with a smattering of romance. You will laugh at the antics of wronged women compelled by a sadistic judge to attend “divorce recovery” sessions with a well meaning but slightly loopy therapist. When one of the attendees turns out to a “wronged man” instead of woman you know you have a few laughs at his expense. The characters are clearly drawn if perhaps overdone, the “mystery” is solved with the perpetrators brought to justice. The situations are believable and hilarious. Altogether this is a pleasant way to spend a few hours.4 of 5 stars

If you enjoy books about cheating husbands and getting revenge on them, this book may be for you. It is a light read that could have been lighter by about 100 pages. Grace was too naïve and some of the scenarios were unrealistic. There were parts that reminded me of The Women (but the remake which was bad), I just did not enjoy this book everyone was so whinny and stupid/naïve and there was so many implausible stories where these women get serious revenge and don’t end up being arrested. This books was just meh.Kathleen McInerney’s narration made everyone in this book sound like a whiny teenager except Wyatt the lone male. It may have been more enjoyable in print.I recommend you try one of Mary Kay Andrews other titles, like Savannah Breeze.2 stars

Ladies’ Night is the perfect summer read!

A group of people going through divorce are forced by a judge to attend mandatory counseling, run by a therapist who is actually no better off than the group. While the exorbitant weekly counseling sessions are of little or no benefit to the group, they work through their problems at their after-counseling sessions, “Ladies’ Night,” at a local pub.

This book describes the many emotions of divorce - anger, frustration, sadness, jealousy, revulsion, but wonderfully reveals how the group works through these issues to rebuild their lives and move on to new chapters. Heaven forbid I should ever be in their shoes but if I were, I would want these characters helping me.

I was thrilled when I began reading this book and realized the setting was at my yearly vacation spot for the past seven years, AMI.

This was the first book I read by Mary Kay Andrews and she is definitely someone I'm going to add to my "to be read" list.

I received a free copy of Ladies’ Night through Goodreads FirstReads.
