He has worked for several multinational companies in Europe and the USA. His experience stretches from new products development, project management, new business building, profit and loss responsibility, to the creation of several successful joint ventures and acquisitions.Currently, he is a senior executive, responsible for strategy development and growth initiatives, including partnerships and new businesses building. While conducting your market research prior to starting a business, you must find out about the various types of grant schemes available. New grant schemes are often introduced, but you must have an idea as to which kind of grants your business is eligible for and whether or not it is worth applying for them.

While conducting your market research prior to starting a business, you must find out about the various types of grant schemes available. New grant schemes are often introduced, but you must have an idea as to which kind of grants your business is eligible for and whether or not it is worth applying for them.
Your start up business may qualify for a grant or government support to help you get started.
Grants can be one of the best and cheapest sources of financing. For example, you might get a subsidized or zero-interest loan, or even an outright cash grant. In addition, support schemes can provide expert advice, information or subsidized consultancy.
Before applying for grants
You must always be prepared to invest your own money in the capital instead of completely relying on outside financial sources such as grants. Grants usually cover a minute percentage of the total financing required for any project.
If any grant scheme is ready to finance your entire project, you will still have to invest your time, effort and resources in researching the availability of that specific grant scheme. Grants are usually available for specific projects such as the introduction of a new training program etc.
Many of the grant schemes have certain restrictions, such as they will fund only already begun projects or so. In this case you must convince them and demonstrate that you will not be able to achieve your targets without their grant.
Before proceeding to apply for grants, ensure that you have a sound business plan to convince them of your credibility and commitment to developing your business.
