About this ebook

I have spent my career helping people to choose their life paths consciously. So many books out now address the care of a loved one from the perspective of a professional or family care giver.
This book looks at you as a person who still gets to decide what your life will be like. Whether you are experiencing disabling factors that require daily ongoing care or you merely want to live closer to family who may become your support network at a later date this book provides help for your planning process.
My career has been grounded in Person-Centered planning. That is planning that keeps you and your choices at the center of things. As you read through this book do the exercises to help you develop your best options for the next phase of your life. If you choose to work with a professional you will have answers ready to allow that individual to serve you better. But if you decide to make this change on your own you will find yourself fully equipped to create the best living arrangements to meet both your dreams and needs.

Dr. Allison has chosen to put her experience and love of people into assisting individuals with the stress and sometimes the trauma experienced in the very common process of moving from one home to another. Her expanded understanding of the events leading up to an unanticipated relocation helped to drive her partnership with Randy Brown in the development of Transitioning Adults plus® to address anticipated and unanticipated life transitions.
