About this ebook
The Queen is in danger. It is Diamond Jubilee week and the safety of the Monarch and the celebrations of a nation hang precariously in the balance. So why does Winston Windsor, the Queen’s favourite Corgi, choose now to stow away from his beloved mistress and the safety of Buckingham Palace?
The Queen may be in danger but Winston finds he has problems of his own. From surviving the local dog pound to navigating the perils of public transport, he experiences a side of life never before seen by a pampered royal pooch.
When Winston realises the full extent of the dastardly plot against his mistress, he throws himself into action - but does this short, fat, rather unlikely hero have what it takes to save the Queen, the Diamond Jubilee and the day?
From the pen of bestselling author Melissa Wareham comes Winston Windsor and the Diamond Jubilee, a hilarious and heartwarming tale of friendship, adventure and sausage sandwiches, as told by the Queen’s favourite Corgi.
A fun-filled and action packed read for children of all ages.
Melissa Wareham
Melissa Wareham is mad about dogs! After leaving school, Melissa quite literally went to the dogs. She spent 15 years working at Battersea Dogs Home, a famous London dog shelter, where she met some colourful characters, both four-legged and two. When Melissa left the dogs' home, she moved to Sydney where she wrote a book about her experiences at Britain's best-loved dogs' home. Rescue Me - My Life with the Battersea Dogs was published in 2009. It reached number four in the Sunday Times bestseller list, was serialised in the Mail on Sunday and made into an audio book, read by Melissa. Rescue Me was adapted by Melissa for children and Take Me Home - Tales of Battersea Dogs was published in 2011 by Random House Children’s Books. Winston Windsor and the Diamond Jubilee is her first foray into fiction. Melissa Wareham is back living in her native London but has no plans to compete in the Olympic games.
