Let me start off by saying, I finished this book several months ago, before I started publishing reviews on my blog. I felt like it deserved a proper review.Crashers tells the fast paced often exhilarating story between Nathan and Shari, a couple who suddenly finds themselves down on their luck, and the men responsible for staging numerous car accidents. Shari, overtaken with the need to make ends meet and the sweet sound of the "good" life ahead, agrees to be a part of the cap and hammer scheme. It's a revealing story of what desperation and greed can do to a person. The cover captured my attention right off the hop, as well as the blurb on the back of the book. The couples' struggles, their desperation, their "do-good" attitudes, all these things made me feel for the characters. I really got into the storyline, and wanted to know what happened next. I had to pry myself away from it. The ending was definitely not what I expected. I love that! I appreciate a book that can surprise you, even when you think you know what's going to happen. I could see this being turned into a movie. It is one that I will be watching for.I enjoyed this novel a lot. Lindy has done a great job combining action, crime and love. I understood Shari and Nathans' reasoning behind jumping into such a dangerous scam, but at the same time I wanted to jump into the pages and tell them to just say NO! I read through it in a short time period because of how easy it was to get caught up in the action.I didn't much care for Bryce's character. He was well-written, don't get me wrong, but if I were to see or talk to him on the streets, there would have been so many scumbag flags flying. He seemed very full of himself right from the start. i definitely would not have gotten into any sort of agreement with him. I guess that's just how innocent Shari was. She seemed very easy to manipulate.I would recommend this book to readers who like a quickly paced, action/crime combo. It's gotten lots of great reviews and was very eye opening. I rated this one a 5/5.I got lucky and won a signed copy of the book from someone's blog (can't remember which one for the life of me)

Okay, so I have to be really honest when it comes to this book. It made me angry. I probably better clarify before people reading this think it is a bad book and decide to not read it. It made me angry in a GOOD way. I love books that make me react, that make me feel something. Because if an author can invoke that kind of emotion from me, then I know they are definitely worth checking out. When the book starts out, its two main characters, Shari and Nathan, seem to have it all. Or at least they hope to have it all in the very near future. Nathan is up for a big promotion, and if that happens, which to Nathan seems a distinct reality, all their troubles will just go away. They won't want for anything. Nathan has their lives all planned out: proposal, house, kids, etc. The whole she-bang. The only problem is that his dream, their dream, suddenly poofs out of existence with just a few clacks on a keyboard. Yeah. Nathan is stabbed in the back by one of his co-workers and suddenly finds himself out of a job. Even worse, he cannot even get a job at another company because his license is revoked. Sucks, huh? The couple's situation gets even more dire when Shari loses her own job. But a fender-bender on the day she is fired could very well be their only salvation.A lawsuit turns into a single idea which pretty much turns into a sudden job offer, and suddenly Shari and Nathan are thrust, willingly on her part and not so much on his, into a world of easy money...or so they think. But this story is not just about Shari and Nathan's rise from the ashes, and the threat of falling again hanging in the background, it also tells the story of a cop searching for the head of this whole escapade. She knows about the world Shari and Nathan have suddenly got themselves into, and she's bound and determined to catch all involved, even if it means putting her life in danger to do it.This is a heart-pounding read. We get to see what people who have nothing to lose will do just to survive in a dog-eat-dog world. We get to see every single point of view. From Shari, to Nathan, to the man who recruits them, to the Big Kahuna who started it all, to the cop getting closer and closer. Every single chapter connects the characters together and gives the book a completeness to it. And while it may not be perfect, yeah there were some grammar issues, it was still an exciting story that just made me not want to put it down.

Once I started reading this book~I could not put it down. It keeps you wanting more,as you will be surprised and shocked when you read how many people are involved with the insurance fraud. It took you thru many twists and turns, and made you stop to think about driving. As-no matter where you live, there are people that make a living doing this.

Crashers was a really good read. I love books that highlight and provide information on real-life situations and scenarios, even if the events in the books themselves are fictionals. In Crashers, you follow the story of Shari and Nathan, an engaged couple whose stressful-but-manageable paycheck-to-paycheck life goes to hell when both Shari and Nathan lose their jobs. To compound their difficult financial situation, Shari ends up in a car accident - coincidentally, one that was staged by a ring of auto insurance fraudsters. It isn't long before Shari herself gets involved, with Nathan soon to follow. In Crashers, you'll learn a lot about how the auto insurance fraud industry works, including how they set up staged accidents, how they select their victims, and how they do their best to keep things hush-hush by using their own eyewitnesses. Additionally, it was interesting to learn that it isn't just a ring of thugs operating the auto insurance fraud industry: in many cases medical professionals, lawyers, and even law enforcement personnel are involved. And since accidents are, true to their name, ACCIDENTS, it can be very hard to prove whether it was intentional or just a true accident. You'll like Crashers, but you'll also never think about driving the same way. Since reading the book, I've found myself leaving more space between the front of my vehicle and vehicles in front of me, and checking my side and rearview mirrors more often. You just never know who's around and what they may be planning! (Then again, I drive a ten year old Kia - not exact worth targeting for a big insurance pay-off. ;) )

Wow! what an interesting book!. I cannot believe I read this whole book in 1 day!. It was so interesting and I just couldn't stop reading, the story just got better and better. This book is about love and fraud. I bet there are a lot of smiler cases like this happen in our world. Just imagine how people can do anything to hurt an innocent person so they could get rich by insurance fraud.Shari and Nathan are interesting characters in this book. At the end I'm glad about how Nathan handled his relationship with Shari.

Still trying to determine exactly how I feel about some of the main characters. You don't really want to like them or relate to their actions (insurance fraud, endangering the lives of others, preying on the vulnerabilities of the weak and underprivileged, exploiting the rich just because they're rich)but you can't help but to somewhat understand why they made the choices that they made.I didn't really get drawn into the story line until about chapter 3 or 4. Some of the actions and thoughts of the characters left me scratching my head - do people really behave this way and it's okay? I often say the testament of a great story line is one that has me wanting more after the last page. Crashers did that for me.Was I disappointed with the ending? Slightly. Surprised? Definitely. But as is life, not everything can be tied up with a pretty little bow and put back on the shelf. Crashers gives an inside look at fraudulent car accidents and makes you think twice when that car behind you gets a little too close for comfort.

I know people will go to great lengths to make money, but can you imagine going as far as staging accidents to get insurance companies to pay... I guess I never thought about it but there is such a thing as accident insurance fraud. That is what Crashers by Lindy S.Hudis is about. A story that is shocking and hard to believe that there are people out there who recruit those down on their luck to work for them to stage car accidents so they can pay their bills. That is exactly what happens to Shari and Nathan, a young couple with all their dreams ahead of them until fate intervenes and they both find themselves without jobs. There are bills to pay and no money so when Shari meets a man who promises to solve that problem for them, they jump at the chance. Although Nathan is very reluctant to embark on this criminal activity, he goes along with it because he loves Shari, thus begins their adventure. This is a book that caught me as soon as I started to read and I enjoyed the book very much. It certainly opened up my eyes, I can see how easy a person can become a victim of this type of fraud. If you don't have a good lawyer, you can lose everything to an accident of this type, and the ending totally surprised me.I received a copy of this book for review and was not monetarily compensated for my review.

The story line had me hooked from page one and I struggled to put the book down. Reading this book will change the way you drive and approach the roads in the future as well as automatically thinking that any car crash you see could be the result of one of the party involved being paid to instigate the accident for a quick payout. The book portrays how the strong and influential have contacts to prey on the weak and vulnerable to help them achieve their goals and then dispose of them once their aim has been achieved.Following the characters plight they find themselves in the current trend of making a fast buck by causing car accidents and using a dodgy lawyers and doctors to fake documents, owing money and out of work the offer is too good to turn down. Unbeknownst to them, the police investigation team is closing in and this adds to the excitement and makes this a page turning thriller. One of the reasons I enjoyed this book is that it showed the vulnerability of humans. If you were down and out and someone offered you the chance of a way out, would you take the offer knowing that your life would be enhanced and poverty ended even though is through an illegal activity or would your conscious tell you otherwise? An eye-opening real life tale of insurance fraud that will shock you to the core.

I was surprised at how quickly my attention was caught by Crashers by Lindy S. Hudis. First let me tell you how shocked I was/am at the fact that there is such a thing as vehicular accident fraud! I really had no idea, so not only did I learn something new, but the fictionalized story was very captivating.Overall, it is a good wake-up call to remind us that taking the easy way out of a situation is not always the right choice, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is, and there are situations that can get much worse before they get better!Such is the case for Shari and Nathan, who are engaged, and wanting to get out of debt. When approached with a get-rich-quick scheme that seems easy, they find themselves in deeper than they want to be. I loved the insight into the investigative side of the fraud as well, and thought Detective Louise Holley was wonderful. This was a pretty quick read because it was hard to put down, and I constantly struggled NOT to skim ahead to see how things turned out. Pick up a copy of Crashers and I can just about promise you will have a non-stop page turner in your hands, I enjoyed it and I'm glad I stepped away from my normal genres to give this one a try. You'll learn a few things, you'll ask yourself if you could ever find yourself (or your loved-ones) in a similar situation, you'll hold your breath through some scenes, and you'll get a shocking twist in the story near the end. I'll add one last note that this is a great book, but is probably best for adults due to mild language.

Crashers, an intense page turner that you will not want to put down. Nail biting to the very end. Thrilling, exciting, heart pounding. All of these barely touch the surface of what Lindy S. Hudis delivers on a shiny, blue car hood. That's right, car hood.

Everyone dreams of being rich as we go to and from our mundane jobs and lead our boring lives. Nothing could be truer for Shari and Nathan when due to unforeseeable events they find themselves unemployed and neck high in debt. Too make matters worse Shari rear ends a very snooty woman, though it wasn't her fault the law states otherwise.

You see, in California, if you rear end someone it is automatically your fault. Even if a small child or animal ran out in front of the car you hit and they slam their brakes to avoid hitting it. It's even your fault if the whole accident was staged in order to commit insurance fraud.

So when the opportunity presents itself in the form of a smoking hot, handsome stranger (Bryce) who just happens to be seeking new “crashers” Shari all but jumps on the chance to get back on top. Nathan is a bit more reluctant, but he timidly goes along with his fiance's plan to jump into the driver's seat. After all he had promised her the world, but lately all he had become was a failure, and he didn't trust Bryce alone with his woman.

Crashers really brings a lot to the table, and it makes you think. If you were in their shoes, would you knowingly risk your life, break the law, and collect a huge sum of money? Could you commit murder, or irreversible harm if the cops and insurance investigators get to close? Would you take out someone you spent endless hours training just because they messed up a little, not too much, just a tad?

I literally read this cover to cover in four hours. I only took a break to cook meals. It sucked me in, disrupted my life (I was supposed to clean today, and do a ton of other things).

I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple points of view. This is how I prefer my stories that are suspense driven as it really adds this extra layer. You know what each hand is doing, but you also realize that the other party doesn't. It was also enjoyable that the Big Kahuna wasn't really revealed until the end, and it was a huge surprise. I was honestly thinking it would be someone else...It's difficult to get one over on me with a mystery like that. I'm the kind of girl who can usually pin point the bad guy within moments of them being introduced.

The characters were well-developed. I could feel what they felt, sense how they felt about others. There is a bit of a surprise with the development too, but I don't want to give too much away. All in all though I found myself really liking bad guy Bryce, and our intelligent police detective as she outsmart them all. I hope she finds some love. But really these characters bleed emotion that feels real, just like we would talk in real life. Dialogue is a toughy, especially when you try to convey that sense of fear, anguish, or even thrill.

Overall I recommend Crashers to all the thrill seeking, suspense loving, mystery lovers. Of course due to language this is best read by an adult audience. Even if you don't care for foul language, it is used tastefully, heat of the moment type thing. It brings reality to the world of insurance fraud.

The story of Crashers is not just full of oxymoron but also packed with ironic twisting of fates. It has a good pacing and sequence that builds the tension of the reader. There isn’t much fillers and the story is very straight forward. It is like a modern day criticism of this mad dog-eat-dog world. The characters have their unique respective personalities which is very distinct to each other that you could always tell who’s who. Although it has a common plot having the superior of the protagonist as the swindler, its twists efficiently divert your attention to every scene which makes it unpredictable. It also is an eye opener in which you’ll realize all the madness in the world that makes people torn into the other side. But still, it has a balance moral of karma as tragedy and success as heroism. In spite of the tragedies that is being given to the characters, it tells a story of hope and notgiving up.
