About this ebook
Of course you've heard of Albert Einstein, creator of special and general relativity, and other famous scientists - but there are many other physics pioneers who have received very little mainstream recognition for their contributions to history.
Despite extraordinary achievements in relativity, quantum mechanics, astronomy, cosmology, or space exploration, these individuals are not among the ranks of Nobel Prize winners. Due to their gender, or vile politics, or caustic personality, or government secrecy, or because they did not possess the desire or talent for self-promotion, they have been for the most part forgotten by history.
Join me as I explore the fascinating history of six unsung heroes of the modern universe.
Ira Mark Egdall
Ira Mark Egdall has a BA in physics from Northeastern University. He recently retired from a 35-year engineering and program management career in the aerospace industry. He now teaches lay courses in modern physics at Lifelong Learning Institutes at the University of Miami, Florida International University, and Nova Southeastern University. His goal is to explain the wonders of the cosmos in everyday language.
