I don’t know about you, but I always like to know something about the author of the book I am reading. By learning a little about their background, I gain a greater understanding of the author’s perspective and the reading experience is enriched and, more personalized.
If you are a regular reader of my blog (www.mattrudmann.com) you will know that first and foremost, I am a big family man with seven children and a wonderful wife. I am also faith-centered - I don’t know how I could manage the challenges presented by such a large family without some help from above! My personal credo is: by following those things in life which truly feed your soul with truth, beauty, and goodness, you will never go wrong

Professionally, I ‘grew up’ in the software industry working on startups, running contracting firms, deploying new media platforms, and writing. Additionally, most of my career has been spent outside the corporate world. This was not because I didn’t like the opportunities afforded by corporate positions, but rather it was never the best ‘fit’ for me. Sure, there are things about the corporate life that are a grind and borderline intolerable, but if you are cut out for it, then great!
As for the creation of this guide, it essentially captures this past year’s odyssey I have journeyed in the realm of new media. While I was an early user of many of the tools and networks referenced in this guide, in the past few years I have seen them mature substantially in functionality and sophistication.
It is my hope that this guide will help you along your own odyssey and that you will achieve your most important goals in reaching your target markets, and having your message stand out in our ‘noisy’ digital world!

THIS BOOK IS DESIGNED TO EQUIP YOU with the knowledge to build a platform for your personal mission through which you can reach your target market. This mission might be your business, your life perspective, or some other message which you want to convey. No matter your purpose, the steps presented in this guide form the foundation of any successful web-based platform. In particular, I will provide you the tools to drive traffic to your web presence. Why? Because this is where I find most people get snagged. They develop some degree of web presence (site, blog, etc.) once they get up and running, but can't seem to get over the hurdle of attracting their desired web traffic.
No one can provide you an application that will, on its own, magically drive traffic to your brand. There are services that can be purchased that offer the promise of improving traffic, ‘likes’, ‘followers’, etc. But this is not meaningful traffic and it won’t last. I have worked with numerous people and scoured the web for such a ‘silver bullet’. It’s just not out there. However, there is great news! While the ‘silver bullet’ is not out there, it does exist - in you! That’s right, YOU hold the key to driving traffic to your brand, and with the proper training, which I will cover in this guide, the tools provided here will ENABLE you to become a master traffic generator.
