Thomas Read was born in a small upstate town in New York in 1977. He graduated near the top of his class in high school where he was then accepted into York College. He completed the dual degree program and earned a BA in Marketing as well as an MBA with a concentration in Management. Upon graduation, Thomas was hired by Cola-Cola Enterprises out of Harrisburg, PA as an Account Manager. He worked there until he and his bride moved to Northern New Jersey. With the geographic relocation, Thomas was offered a position in the Pepsi Bottling Group where he has been an Account Manager, New Business Specialist, Territory Sales Manager of Small Format and most recently the Territory Manager of Large Format which sells in excess of over 2 million cases a year. Thomas currently resides in New Jersey with his wife and two lovely children.

    History

    The EPA was created on December 2, 1970. The agency was created to fill a need that the United States as a whole was missing, a protector of its and the world’s environment. An agency to regulate and stand up for America, the Home of the Brave and the Home of the Free. America however, was quickly becoming Home of the Toxins and Un-breathable Air. The EPA was a message from the Government in response to the decades of mass pollution, both visible and invisible to the public as a whole. The EPA was not just formed to set rules on pollution but also create ideas are where needed to better the whole worldview on the environment. Of which (the topic of the environment as a whole) had first started to see major print and create a concept as a whole back in 1962.

    1962 was the year that the publication of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring (first seen published in the New Yorker) and later as a Houghton Mifflin best seller. This series of publication was an attack and a social commentary about the uses of pesticides and was a harsh view against it (the pesticides) at that. The nature of this series of commentaries caused an immediate attention to the environmental problems facing America and prompted a change in America’s public opinion. (www.epa.gov)
