About this ebook
Noelle Michaels, a creative speech and learning specialist, has combined her three shorter books into one volume, entitled Superb Therapy! Noelle focuses on fun and easy ways to teach children math, reading, spelling, writing, social, science, speech and language skills during snack or meal time. Children as young as 2 years old can learn to solve math word problems using Noelle's approach. They develop an early love of math and facility with numbers. Parents of children who were 2 years old or older, and were still not speaking more than a few words, have thanked Noelle for giving them the information they need, in her Verbal APRAXIA book. They learned to advocate for their child and get the proper therapy put into place. Now those children are successful communicators! Parents who attempted to teach their child colors by asking, "What color is this?"(as they walked around pointing to objects) have learned that this can cause confusion and frustration for the child and themselves. Noelle's hierarchy of learning colors (or any other vocabulary set: vehicles, food items, clothing, etc) gives a step-by-step approach, with fun learning and practice games at each level along the way. Reading the Superb Therapy! book will put you in touch with Noelle and her fun, creative and effective techniques and approach. Buying her book for a family member, friend, daycare staff member or school staff will help them to become a more informed parent, student, teacher, health professional, administrator or therapist. Noelle's books are great resources for those interested in having Noelle do a staff training. Some preschools are already using the SNACKademics approach and the parents see the technique as a valuable EXTRA that their child is receiving. If you want to increase children's test scores, the first step is to raise preschoolers and kindergarteners who LOVE math, writing and reading. Yes, it's that simple. The good new is that kids love SNACKademics and easily soak up math, writing and reading concepts and skills while having fun. Buying Superb Therapy!, trying the techniques or recommending this book to others will help children to master the skills they need to be confident learners and enjoy a successful future. Also, remember that you are never alone. Noelle is easily reached by phone, text, or e-mail to help you in any way that you need. Your concerns will be addressed or your questions will be answered by the author herself. What a BIG PAYBACK for such a small investment!

1: Using Noelle’s Approach & SNACKademics At Home And In The Classroom
Why Children Ask for, Noelle!
Noelle’s general approach focuses on creating experiences with the child involving the things the child is passionate about, in order to get multiple areas of the brain working together. This approach can be used inside the house or classroom, or outside. It’s simple. Just focus on what the child likes. The key is to share the child's excitement and love of the items or activities the child seems drawn to, in order to create a bond and social connection. This connection can then be used to stimulate more speech & language, as well as cognitive growth & social skills. Once the child is invested in the relationship, then motivation and cooperation are more easily achieved.
This approach involves having a respectful relationship with the child that is more like joyful friends meeting for a play time, and less like I tell you what to do and you do it.
Things that you want to get done (specific tasks/objectives) end up getting done anyway, and the process is so much more enjoyable for everyone involved. Parents love when their child looks forward to learning new things or practicing speech!
Remember, there is a delightful bit of something in EVERY child. Find it, enjoy it and help it to grow. The result will be a child that outshines all of your expectations and surprises you as he goes on to interact in an enriching way with other children and adults, perhaps even his or her very own children one day! You have the power to make a positive change that will impact future generations just by treating children respectfully and having fun.
Are there times when you won’t feel like doing this? Of course you might sometimes feel that way. Should you do it anyway? Of course you should. How? Become an actor, if necessary. Soon it will become more genuine. You will soon find yourself looking forward to these enjoyable interactions.
An important reminder: please DON’T talk about the child in a serious, professional
manner near the child. This can cause the child to think that you’re PRETENDING to like him or her, and then mistrust will sabotage your efforts.
Speak to adults about the child away from him; unless, of course, it’s to tell the adults wonderful things about the child. Compliment the child in front of other adults, unless the child seems put off by it. He is so smart!
She has such great ideas!
Finally, always tell the child how wonderful he or she is directly to him or her. A strong self-confidence supports the learning process immensely!
Using Noelle’s Techniques, You Can Transform Snack Times & Mealtimes Into Phenomenal Language-Learning & Educational Experiences.
Children will learn skills in the following subjects when you simply engage them in short, fun activities.
• Mathematics

Why Teach Skills During Snacks and Meals?
Often adults feel that the day goes flying by and they don’t have as much time as they need to teach children all that they want them to learn. However, a child may feel that they day is passing very slowly, especially if he is not enjoying the activities we are offering him. We need a period of time when a child is easy to engage and is in a positive frame of mind. In my opinion, most young children enjoy the time they spend having a snack or sitting with others for a meal.
Each time a child sits to eat is an opportunity to increase skills. Each time we don’t utilize SNACKademics techniques we have lost that opportunity. Fortunately, we all eat every day, several times a day. There are plenty of new eating opportunities coming our way! It is something we can rely on happening that is already scheduled into each day. Professionals can learn what to do during snacks & meals (within the school or daycare setting) so that children automatically learn many different skills & concepts! The actual eating is the least part of this process. It is about the preparation (setting the table) and discussions that go on where the learning and practice happens.
Parents can use these techniques at home and therapists can use toy food items, modeling clay or Play-Doh to get the same amazing results. Let’s take a close look at what we usually do day after day, and then compare that with what we have the ability to do, easily and effectively. Let’s not let these opportunities routinely slip by us. Let’s start utilizing every snack time or mealtime by infusing each one with simple, fun, interesting activities and conversations which can be accomplished using objects we may already be using: napkins, cups, utensils, placemats, food items and place cards.
Traditional
Snack Time vs. SNACKademics
Let’s look at a Traditional
Snack Time
The following are some typical instructional goals:
• Engaging in a routine activity
• Following directions
• Waiting to be served quietly and patiently in a seated position
• Keeping one’s hands, snack and drink to oneself
